I've found a Pennsylvania racino that has THREE banks of quarter
progressive VP with 7/5 JOB, Colorado Deuces, 6/5 BP, 9/6/4 DB, 8/5
DDB, 7/7/7 USA Poker and 15/7 JW (Kings or Better).
I have BDPWP 5.0a (WINPOKER) software and a 1st generation Pentium
processor with a Windows95 operating system (SLOW!!!). [I am not
inviting anyone to knock the 1st generation of the BDPWP software or
my use of an antiquated Laptop, but constructive comments are
appreciated.]
I have tried to calculate 8,000; 9000; 10,000; 11,000; and 12,000
coin jackpots but get an error message on at least one game per
jackpot level. Therefore, I cannot compare the increases for ALL the
games at each jackpot level across the board. (Winpoker 5.0 does not
print strategy cards or permit the creation of "user defined"
paytables for wildcard games. I also think that Winpoker does not
recognize 6/5 BP as a user defined game title and treats it as a
fraction to be decimalized. Decimalizing the fraction is interpreted
by Winpoker as a game title in excess of 64K.)
All of the games need to have a jackpot of at least $2000.00 to be
above 99%.
JOB and BP pay 2 to 1 for two pair.
Basic strategy for JOB and BP say hold the high pair over 3RF.
Basic strategy for AA is to hold high pair over A XX 10; Otherwise
hold 3RF. Also, AA is only available on one of the three progressive
banks.
In 8/5 DDB, hold the 3RF over AA above $1,656.00 jackpot level.
I suspect that a game in which the basic strategy is to hold three-to-
a-royal (3RF) over one or two pair increases the likelihood of
hitting the Royal in the quickest amount of time while a game that
pays double money for two pair may be slower to the Royal.
Given the time limitation (the jackpot resets after the RF is hit)
and strategy deviations, which is the best game to play at 100% or
better?
Which strategy to use ? Max EV or Min-Cost-Royal? (Best Shot Royal
strategy is single coin; therefore, not appropriate for a
Progressive, right?)
I suspect a part of the answer is that speed and playing the game
with the strategy and deviation points you know best (close to
perfect play) is more important than SLOW PERFECT PLAY of the game
with the highest ER at the 12,000 coin jackpot level.
I have yet to figure out whether certain games with progressive
jackpots increase exponentially while others only increase
arithmetically.
I have played both 6/5 BP and 8/5 DDB but failed to hit in either
case.
96.87% - 6/5 BP
96.79% - 8/5 DDB
96.77% - Colorado Deuces
96.38% - 9/6/4 DB
96.38% -15/7 JW (Kings or Better)
96.27% - 7/7/7 USA Poker
96.15 %- 7/5 JOB
Any thoughts?
