progressive vs non-progressive

ok be patient stupid question. If I am playing on a JOB progressive and the paytable says the same as a non-progressive where does the progressive come into play?In english what is the difference and are they (the odds) a better pay or worse?

the RF payout (at least) should be a meter. are you playing 'full coin'?

If the paytables are the same and one has a progressive
royal and the other doesn't, then the one with the progressive
is a better play.

The difference is that you will get 4000 coins if you hit a royal
on the non-progressive (when playing 5 coins) and you will get
more than 4000 coins (how much depends on how high the
progressive is) on the progressive machine.

The extra payout for a royal results from continuously taking a
small percentage of the coin-in and adding it to the amount paid
for a royal.
