Profit/Loss Questions Regarding Various Cash Back Programs

I've started tracking my play this year since moving from NYC at the
end of last August. It recently occurred to me that I may not be
handling how I document my wins and losses on days when I get any type
of cash back such as XPC at Station/Fiesta Casinos, bounceback cash,
or cash in the mail.

I'd like someone to give me an answer based on the following two examples:

1) I put $100 into a machine along with my card and receive $10 XPC or
similar. I leave the machine after an hour with (a) $150 or (b) $50.
Is (a) a profit of $40 or $50; and is (b) a loss of $50 or $60.

2) I receive a coupon which states that if I get 50 points on a
machine on a certain day, I'll receive $10 back on that day. Is that
$10 added to my gain or subtracted from my loss on that day?

Thanx for the help!

I keep track of my XPC seperatly, but I still consider it a profit.
Eg: Put a $100 in the machine---get $10 in Xpc---cash out $180.
My records would reflect +$80 overall--$70 in video poker, $10 in
XPC. Doing it this way allows you to know just how you are doing in
(a) video poker (b) overall.

my profit/loss for a session is how much i started with in my pocket
vs how much i ended up with...it doesn't matter if it was free play,
cash back, or actual play...i do keep track of cash back/free play
separately...gift cards are a separate category unto themselves...i
have an excel spreadsheet to do this if you are interested...
