Press Release: IGT Offers First-Ever Video Poker Progressive Interstate Link

Here are the details about the new STP progressive that were
reported to vpFREE2.com today:

"I found the new STP progressives at the Golden Nugget LV
(linked with the Golden Nugget Atlantic City). There are four
uprights between Starbucks and the Rush Lounge with 25c 3
play and four on the other side of the bank with $1 3 play.

According to the rules, to get the progressive you must be
playing max bet of 18 coins and get a royal with a 10x
multiplier. No mention in the rules that it must be a dealt
royal. You can only win the progressive once with each play.

The paytables are ones like 8/5 DB (94.19%) and 6/5 DDB
(94.66%)."

What's the meter? 4%?

Not that they are anywhere close to being interesting to me, I'm very surprised at how LOOSE these games are.

Wide Area Progressives, like MegaBucks, typically start out at about 85% and go from there.

The 10x multiplier is pretty rare on a regular STP game (I don't have the number off-hand). There is no reason to assume it has the same frequency on the WAP.

I believe the rule is that the top jackpot must have a payout more frequent than 1-in-50 million. Assuming these games have a royal cycle of 32,000 (when there is a multiplier of 10 and you're using a royal-or-bust strategy), this implies that the 10x multiplier must be more frequent than 1-in-1500 hands. I'm curious whether IGT will publish this information.

The Wizard says 88.61% which includes a 3.49% meter. And IGT is known to add pot sweeteners on a regular basis, from other progressives it is taking down. And if you hit one of these there's no casino heat since IGT pays the bill and I've never heard of IGT 86ing anyone, even winners.

Last time I checked IGT MegaKeno starts at 95% and is strongly progressive where the meter really moves, unlike all those weak casino hosted progressives that move at snail's paces. Casinos hate progressives, IGT loves progressives, so obviously eventually all useful progressives will be IGT progressives if this hasn't happened already.

Info in WoO website suggest reasonably authoritative source that STP 10x appears äs multiplier 4% of the time, or once in approx 375 plays.

the frequencies on regular STP do not necessarily need to be the same as the frequencies on the wide area progressive. But they might. 1/375 means a royal cycle of between 10 million and 15 million hands (depending on how aggressively you played for the royal when 10x appeared --- which might be right.

The 10x on a normal STP is one in 375 or one out of 25 multipliers. (What looked like a par sheet was shown on this web site many years ago.)That would make a royal about one in 12 million but since it is a three line game about one in 4 million.
Note: 5 deck frenzy was played with a progressive and was about an 11 million to one shot.
