President Biloxi lowers cashback

A local pro reports:

Was $2 to get a point (on up to $1 vp - $2 and $5 denominations were
different), 150 points for $1 of cb (.33% cb normally, 1% cb on triple point
tuesday). Now, at $1 9/6 in both prgressive and flat, it takes $5 to get a
point (so triple points is .4%). For quarter, i check a 9/6 progressive ($5
to get a point) and a random (not 9/6 JoB) nonprogressive ($3 to get point).
This leaves president all but unplayable unless the progressives grow to the
point of making them worthwhile.

slot club day is midnight to midnight. there are 2 each of the following
machines right of the main entrance:

$5 9/6 JoB

$2 9/6 JoB with individual progressives - these use $5 coins but only 2
(hence calling them $2). The royal resets to $4000 (yuck) and, since these
get little play, the progs rise sloooooowly.

It looks like the President is trying to compete with Treasure Bay
next door for lowest cash back on the coast.

progressives grow to the point of making them worthwhile.

The meters on these progressives move with the speed of a glacier.
The President has been gradually getting rid of their playable VP for
a while now. They removed their quarter All American machines a
couple of years ago, ruined the good 100 play machines they put in,
cut the pay tables on the nickle five line games that once had NSUD
and 9/6 JOB, and recently turned off the 50 play game with NSUD. Now
comes the cash back rate cut. If they're trying to run off video
poker players, they are doing a good job.

EE,

I feel this has been happening for years and not just at the
President. We stopped going to the Silver Star years ago when the
count of quarter VP machines dwindled down to about 30 out of 2100
machines. Others have very small VP area and keep putting in new
multi-game that just don't seem to ever pay out. The Isle of Capri,
Biloxi is a place we don't visit anymore for this reason. Slots are
the preferred game for the casino, faster and bigger percentage I
guess. I really believe that most casino would like to dump VP
completely. Beats me why. VP machine have higher, much higher, "in
play" time than almost all the slots in the house.
