Pre-Scouting: North Strip

Before I scout the following casinos, it would be helpful if anyone
could fill in some information not found or outdated on this
database. If I see something new I will notify.

New Frontier: Ah, the old "Pro Central". Mailers? How much of
the
dead coin goes on the 3meter these days? Meter-rise on the 8/5 Ace$
progressive?

Stardust: Has Bounce Back changed since last checked in 01/2005? Any
reappearance of profitable MIA games? Casino still "hot"?

Riviera: 100.5% qDB still there? Any mailers?

Circus Circus: Is there any meaningful meter-rise on the qAs&8s
(difficult to gage w/ multiple short-coin players)? Mailers?

Sahara: Mailers? Anything at all to play in there?

Stratosphere: New member Half-Hour 15% coin-in voucher still in
effect? Are the mailers like Charlies (4x cash + 2x food per month)?

Thank You in advance for any feedback, Steve.

The bank at Slots-A-Fun adds 0.25% to each of the two progressives.
(Well, it did in December 2004. Haven't been to Vegas since then.)

22 days and counting.

Regards,
  Heppel

Hi Steve:

I'm still getting non-local bounceback monthly, but the amounts have
varied from $100 down to $75. I'm not a top tier or Chairman's Club
player, either. No return of the MIA games, but see my previous post
about more NSUDs. Not sure what you mean by "hot" in describing the
casino. Hot like popular? Hot like no a/c? Hot like heat from
mgmt?

Sahara: Mailers? Anything at all to play in there?

Don't know about mailers. They have a daily swipe promo going on now,
so I was in there for the first time in several years. I found no
playable VP, which is too bad. Casino seems much cleaner and more
stylish than I remember. It seems like a fun place to play.

qFPDW still there and rising at 0.125% on RF. Bank of 5.
qBDW 1/3/3/4/13 1%MR on RF.(Cost only $1591 in 38K hands!) Bank of 5.

q6/9 JoB 2x on 4k-7s
6/9 $JoB

Bar- South end - 5/8 poker 2x on 4k(7s) and 4K(other) 2 meter
progressive (unable to gauge).
(South of Mexican Restaurant)
q6coin (dead coin) 3 meter. only 3cents per dead quarter is
redistributed on the meters. Despite the high resets, this cannot be
an attractive prospect.
(NW of double change booth)
q5/8/4700 ddbp 2meter. Kicker Ace and Kicker 234 both progress at
0.5%
Impression and disclaimer - Use the FPDW to get the mailers when all
else is flat. Scout once per week for the BDW & ACE$ progressives.
Jump the 5/8 Ace$ at anything over $1900 and the BDW at $2200. Also,
I'm a pretty good scout, but I do miss stuff. For example, I clean
forgot to look at the Margarita bar on the north end of the casino.
So please don't avoid scouting a joint just because I've typed a few
words on it.

qTriPlay 5/7 BP D10533 A1972 B1585 C1756

(bar - south end of casino)
q5/8 bp suited royals (average is currently $1400)
Unable to gauge MR at this bar at this time.
No profitable flat tops or NSUD spotted.
Impression: This is undoubtedly a strong stop for the quarter
player. The suited royal bars are likely going to get up several
times a month. The triple play is a fast way to get points but you
have to know how to factor in the "dealt value" and be prepared to
weather the cost. I plan to scout here 3x per week and play average
RF plays exceeding $1700. I just wish I knew what the bounce back
coin in thresholds are.

WestWard Ho:
The only thing I could find here was the venerable q6/9 JoB
progressive. The bank is now down to 10 or 12 machines in the center
of the east portion of the casino. It still progresses at 0.5% on
the front meter and 0.5% on the backup meter.
Impression: I don't think the card is worth much here (check
database), and a high royal could go for days due to lack of
interest. Checking weekly, I'd start in at $1850 just to kill down
time.

Hey Steve:

Stardust:
No NSUD spotted.

They're in the Keno area

I just wish I knew what the bounce back
coin in thresholds are.

I'll report when my November offer arrives and when I have a chance to
compare notes and coin-in with others who I know will get them.

Stardust Cash Card is 0.25%, not the 0.33% reported earlier. Sorry for
any confusion. Steve.

Stardust suited royal bars have 0.25% MR on each meter and a 0.25%
cash card. This is less than I originally thought, but still quite
respectable considering the player is given a 99.166% game to play. In
an earlier thread I mentioned that the play was worth scouting 3 times
per week. In light of the smaller meter-rise than originally suspected
and the very light play the banks get when the royals are down, I feel
that once per week is enough scouting with follow ups when it starts
to get up.

I am going to complete my initial scouting of the North Strip region
next week. This will include Circus, Riviera, Sahara and the
Stratosphere. And again, please never fully rely on anyone else's
scouting information as it may be flawed or tainted. Steve.
