This is what a 113% play looks like. This game is similar to Superball Keno on the old Pot O' Gold machines. It's a $1 bet. Anytime the last ball drawn (20th ball) is part of the hit you get payed 4X the regular pay....except in the case of the 6/8 which pays 500 for 1.

There is a train of thought by some that an AP who takes advantage of casino mistakes is not really AP'ing at all. He is just taking advantage of an error. That a real AP doesn't need casinos mistakes to make it. I agree that a real AP doesn't need casino mistakes but disagree with the rest of the premise.

I found this game a year and a half ago on 4 machines in a bar/casino in a little town. How long did this play go unrecognized by the locals as a strong gamble? I come an go from this play and also track the meters. I write the numbers down when I leave then take a look at the numbers when I return. The game gets very little activity by the locals. But the game did not escape the scrutiny of this AP. I've done a lot of keno math but not this kind before. I had to think up the way to do the math. Then I put my math up on WoV to get second opinions from the heavyweight mathematicians on that site. They confirmed I did the math right.

I've been milking this play for a year and a half....instead of torching it....in which case I didn't figure to make that much money before they had the slot route operator send the techs in. These liittle 20 machine casinos can't stand heavy concentrated losses. So I milk the play then let the machines soak up money for weeks at a time before I return.

Except for these four machines the meters on all the other machines starts at $200. That would put the game at about 92%. But the extra 300 bets makes it a 113% play. The frequency of the 6/8 with the Pow'r Hit is 1408. The 7/8 is also a key hit as 7% of the payback, whether its a normal pay of 230 for 1, or a Pow'r Hit pay that pays 800 for 1, is wrapped up in it. The frequency of the 7/8 with the Pow'r Hit is 17,800. I have 6% the best of it just up through the 6/8 with the Pow'r Hit (1408 game cycle). And when the 7/8's come its all gravy.

This game along with Chambers of Gold and Jackpot Aces, two other games that I've posted pictures of here, are prime examples of how I make money in a jurisdiction where, by law, the maximum jackpot is $800. This is s $375 an hour play where I'm running just $2900 an hour in action.

A poster on another forum who traveled through Montana last year has stated that I am a liar. That he checked things out and there is nothing here. LMAO! His words carry weight in some circles but pictures don't lie. It's just further confirmation to me that he has no clue how to identify advantage plays.

If you are dubious then take a look at the picture again. Picturs don't lie, my friend. James, there are lots of people in the "now that I know about it everybody shut up about it" crowd. I personally detest these kind of people. They have no souls. If you want to find one of my plays, sonnyboy, you better bring plenty of gas money. There are 18,000 machines in Montana spread out amonst 1700 licensed establishments. Good luck in your hunt. Here's another clue. Something I didn't divulge. I have the game in another location too.

In the link I thought I would show you all what a typical Montana bar/casino looks like. That's me at the bar drinking and having fun with all my friends.

Bring plenty of gas and hotel money. You ain't going to just drive into this state and find my plays. You better be dedicated. They don't call this place Big Sky Country for nothing. There are 18,000 machines spread out amongst 1700 licensed licensed establishments in Montana. I always love it when I show the folks a major advantage play and someone starts talking like they are the ones with all the brains. If thats all they have to offer then they are nothing.

I'm not doubting you. Showing someone a golden needle is one thing, it's that giant haystack that is the problem. I'll be the first to admit I have had trouble finding stuff on VPFree2 and it is laid out for you most of the time.

Plus Keno is outside many people's comfort zone.

Maybe more importantly it is a pure grind play. There are no comped suites, fancy dinners, shows, birthday gifts and I doubt the bar owner gives you an offer. Nothing wrong with that it's your job being a prospector. It is not part of the casino lifestyle fantasy that attracts a lot of people.

Even if someone quit their job, bought an old VW bus and tried to find your plays and found them so what. Now it would be two people milking one play until someone wised up and killed it for both of you.

I don't blame you for being proud and crowing a bit. It's a niche that you carved that most people would not look at.

A couple thoughts about Mickey's situation. I don't know Mickey although I'd love to hoist a couple beers with him one of these days. Like Rich said, it's purely a grind play... Mickey's probably not on anybody's radar at all because he's probably not using any sort of player's cards. Not only that but because he's working plays that (in this sort of situation) net him say $400 per day on one machine, he's probably not getting any 1099s at all. He's probably entirely on a cash basis. He's off the grid. I'd love to learn from him and see if I couldn't do something similar when I hit retirement age (about a year and a half from now), the only exception being that I would want to do it in a part of the country where it never, ever snows. It's clean work, no heavy lifting, pays pretty well, there's no boss, and they serve beer. What's not to love about that?

Be careful Mick.

I'm no expert, but have been told that some images contain the GPS geocode, which can give away the location.

Mike, I haven't taken a W2-G since I left Nevada almost 8 years ago. Montana is a different situation than Nevada and other gambling jurisdictions. These little gambling businesses make their money off the people living in the town or community so there is nothing like room comp. They will comp your drinks while you are playing. And there are slot clubs where you get freeplay for your action. But I refuse to join them because they track your play. I don't want to be tracked and I don't want them to know my name.

Back in the eighties there was a crackdown on drunk driving in Montana. It caused about a 20% drop in bar business revenue. The Montana Tavern Owner's Association was all up in arms about it. So the legislature threw the bar owners a bone. They legalized video poker and video keno. Multi-game machines were legalized in 1999. And video line games came in in January 2012. Leading up to the video line games coming in I was highly concerned. I thought it might effect the games I was exploiting. But it turned out that it was actually a positive for me. There are now line games here that I exploit.

And yes, video keno is a grind. All the thinking in keno is done before you sit down. I play on turbo speed. where I'm cranking out 40 to 50 games per minute depending on the machine. A typical five-spot progressive, with a frequency of 1550.57 is about 35 minutes average seat time. There is nothing to think about while you are playing. On some of these machines I don't even have to move my finger. I just lay it on the screen sensor and the game keeps playing.

I keep plenty of reading material in kindle on my windows phone. And there is no heat here by casino employee's. They don't know anything. Even the owners don't know anything about their machines. They just know that they make them money.

While playing keno I'm currently reading Bound For Glory by Woodie Guthrie. Him and I have a lot in common. We're both old freight train riders.

Thanks, BLavoie, but I turned the GPS off before I took the picture.

[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

I guess that is another plus. I don't drink while playing VP, but for Keno I assume you stay until you hit a 5/8 or better or something like that. So bottoms up! Doesn't reading while playing look suspicious, a degenerate bibliophile? Switch to audio books?

Just got happily married and joined fatherhood and I am not that much younger than you otherwise I might try and buy a franchise off you. I could really catch up on Roku/Hulu and the like.
