We only go about once every 2 months. Went down during the weekend of July 17th. Probably will make a trip maybe around September 25th since the 22nd is our 31st wedding anniversary.
Cheers.

Since you ask...
I'm looking into making my first trip to Tunica within a couple of
months. I have a buddy in Asheville NC who's caught up in the poker
craze (with the Travel Channel & ESPN televised poker tourneys etc) &
wants to go to Tunica for his first real tourney. I'll fly into
Nashville or Memphis & he'll drive from there.
He's stayed once before at the Gold Strike, & would be happy staying
there. I believe the Gold Strike is walking distance from Horseshoe
with a major poker room? I'm going to look into the Sheraton as an
alternative, because I believe they're part of the Caesars system, &
I've got some comps & play at other Caesars properties, so maybe
they'll offer me a room deal.
As far as VP, I usually play quarters, & enjoy a variety of games. I
could go up to 50-cent play if the return was decent & it'd help me
get a comped room etc.
I'm looking for any advice regarding Gold Strike vs Sheraton. They
both seem to have good (99.5%+) VP at the quarter & 50-cent level.
Any multi-play? Is there a difference in rooms quality? Food? Ease of
getting comps? Any info would be appreciated.

I've stayed at the GoldStrike, and their rooms are nice, as I recall. They have since gutted the JoB; IIRC, as of July 18th, all of the JoB at GoldStrike was only 6/5 (I guess because Horseshoe did that many months ago and there are still idiots playing it), but their multi-strike JoB is a whopping 7/6 -- IIRC. If JoB is your game, play at the Sheraton. I've never stayed there, and it's been a long time since I had their buffet, so I can't give any advice in that arena. But you can't beat Horseshoes buffet anywhere in Tunica, in my humble opinion.
Cheers and good luck.
