I did this recently --- so this may well have been addressed to me. I
felt it was appropriate. (And was thanked afterwards by the person
sending it). Is this official vpFREE policy or merely the point of view
of an anonymous member?

In my opinion and for what it is worth, it is simply good taste not to re-post
private e-mails without permission, be it an official "rule" or not. It was sent to
you privately, for whatefver reason. One should not then take it on
themselves and make the personal decision of violating the trust which
someone gave to you.
Again, my personal opinion, not a "rule". It is just the way I choose to act in my
life.

Assuming (not certain) it was my 10/26 post that prompted this
thread to start with, it's relevant to note:
1. The private sender wasn't identified in any way
2. The post was highly relevant to the discussion at hand ---
and I responded to it appropriately.
In no way do I feel I violated any trust. Someone was asking me a
question about penalty cards --- which is a relevant subject to this
group and I am knowledgeable about that subject. They were addressing me
as a video poker teacher --- not as a personal friend. Under similar
circumstances in the future, I would likely act the same way. I
understand that others might choose to act differently, but I will have
no trouble sleeping after such a post.
