I was playing at Greektown last week during their summit drawing. I was playing in a bank of 2 machines and lady sat down to play the empty machine to my right. I wasn’t really watching too closely and she got up to go put out her cigarette. She came back, sat down and started to put a voucher in the machine. A large woman came up, said “Hold on”, reached across her and hit the cash out button. There was $20 in credits. Now, I don’t know for sure if the first woman put in the $20. I didn’t look that closely. The first woman started to protest and the second woman said “This is mine, I just came back for my cane”. Now, she didn’t have a cane. Also, she didn’t seem in any hurry and actually argued with the first woman for a while.
If I were sure the first woman put in the $20, I would have jumped in but I wasn’t sure. The first woman called security, a host came out and they said they would review the tapes. I’m hoping she gets her $20 back.
What struck me was the absolute boldness of the second woman. The way she was talking I thought they knew each other. They didn’t. I’ve seen some bold stuff in a casino but this might be the boldest.
Just a reminder to always watch your money in a casino. Even 10 seconds of inattentiveness can cost you.
