Positive Games, at Wynn, apparently MIA

As of noon today, pay schedules on the four machines which used to
have positive games have been "trashed":
DB (formerly 10/7) is now 9/6/5
DDB(formerly 10/6) is now 9/5
Similar changes on DW, BP, and JOB . .

Inquiry, to a floorperson, indicated that no positive pay schedules
are available. (I did not actually check every machine on the floor;
it is "barely conceivable" that the positive games have been
relocated).

We had enough play, in December, to justify $75/week in "bounceback"
cash; none was available. Inquiry to Slot Club indicated that
this "might" be reinstated next month.

Wow! I'm sure sorry to hear that, it's such a shame. I made my
reservation for my free night on Feb 11th and was looking forward to
playing my $100 in freeplay on those machines. Guess I'll look for
their best paying schedule and run it through once then go somewhere
else to gamble.

Why don't they lower the denominations of play instead of the
paytable? That approach will allow them to advertise positive VP,
and turn off the high rollers at the same time.

Perhaps because that makes sense? Remember who we're dealing with
(with whom we're dealing--sorry, Mrs. Rhodes).

The latest fad in casinos seems to be slash and burn, but not every
casino is doing it. I don't like that I have to play twice as much
to earn points on positive games in some locations, but it seems to
be the only way that those casinos will continue to offer them.

Let's be careful out there!

I'm glad that I was there, just last week and had an opportunity to
play on the positive bank. I also earned 4 of WYNN's outstanding
buffets.

I would go back there and play again, if only for the elegance of
the casino and the excellence of the food. Besides, they have
plenty of $1.00 9/6JOB and 8/5BP, which is certainly better than
what most other Strip casinos offer.

As the apparent VP paytable "slash and burn" phenomenon seems to be accelerating, I would
like to make the personal comment that it would be "nicer" if the various paytables that are
between 99% and 100% be preserved and that the "perks" that are associated with VP be
somewhat lessened.

The games 9/6 JOB, 8/5 BP, and NSUD, for example, are all less than 100% So, if the perks
would be, say, 0.2% the "perfect" player will still not attain a greater than 100% return and yet
the "player" in all of us would not feel as if we are being ripped off. I am more than willing to
pay the 0.2% or so as an "entertainment" tax.

Am I being heretical here? <smile>

Assuming that you will be staying at the Wynn, the New Frontier is
directly across Las Vegas Blvd.

New Frontier does have an FPDW Progressive; 100.7% at reset.

Wynn also "experimented" with MS 9-6 Jacks and NSUD, albeit at $2 and
$5 ($10 and $25 single-line variance) for a couple of weeks and then
pulled the game. There may or may not have been some heat on the game,
but I didn't see what the big deal was, even with the drawing tickets,
to pound away at it. The game had "trap" written all over it.

I would look at the so-called "locals bank" as a great introductory
offer to Wynn. It lasted something like 6 months, longer than I
thought it would.

I'm sure there will be some reinstatement of the locals program (the
locals program for Jan was the Ferrari drawing, apparently), but I
would predict some scaling back of it, or some similar change in the
program. I wouldn't consider the booth to be a reliable source here; I
don't even think slot marketing knows what they're going to do, if
anything yet.

The $2/$5 MS 9-6 Jacks and NSUD were still there today,
as they have been every time I've looked recently.

Thanks, I was told differently. Guess I need to clone myself once again.
