My thoughts about this important vote.
At first I was leaning to a name with Wynn in it. It would be like how
forest fires are named. The nearest identifiable landmark is used, be it ridge,
road or even a duck pond. Then, more information came out that this 15/11
paytable has been seen across the country. It isn't even the first occurance in
greater Las Vagas. Railroad Pass had it in Spinpoker for awhile (how come no
one shared this one?).
A cute name might be best. "Decoy Ducks" seemed to fit the bill (another
joke). Players would going after the decoys (from FPDW) the casino set out. But
aren't all short-pay games really decoys?
But this version of Deuces is quite close to the well established NSUD. It
is in the X/X/4/4 family of paytables. So maybe a scientific approach should
be in order.
How does the latin go... Order/Family/Genus/Species? I am a bit rusty.
Anyway, the family would be Wild Card games. Isn't there a sub-family catagory
too, call it Deuces Wild.
The genus would be all the "X/X/4/4" Deuces games...species 15/9
(Illinois/Airport), 16/10 (Not So Ugly) and the un-monikered members of this genus. They
all could still mate, but they would always be "4/4s".
So I would have to vote for an acronym that had "NSUD" as a root.
Super-NSUD, Expert-NSUD and N-Quite-SUD. Super, well everything seems to be "super"
right now. How many different IGTs are super? Expert, this implies competance,
something that needs to be downplayed. We are advantage players trying to
play full-pay games already.
But, Quite just might work. It still is a bit cute...Not Quite, So Ugly
Ducks. It imparts an incremental element, just a bit better, .2% in fact. It
would generate a unique acronym...NQSUD. Cover is accomplished, "I played the
quarter Not Quites" or "Where are the $1 100-play Not Quites in your casino?"
Also, IGT probably won't be using it in game names soon.
So, do vote your conscience. What will be best for the community in the long
run (last joke)?
BS
