1/2 won and 1/2 lost. I always figured vp players were like
fishermen and never lost. <g>

This must be a pretty honest group

Makes me assume that at least half of our membership do NOT always
play advantage machines.
Also less than 20% of our membership replied.
How many lost more than $10,000? (unreported)
Are they including value of comps and perks in the results?

Playing positive games does not guarantee you will be a winner.

Certainly you know that. There were also 3 votes noted below of those
who lost more than $10,000, so it has been reported.

A lot of folks just want to keep their wins/losses a private matter. otoh,
I'm impressed that so many were willing to report substantial losses. It
would be interesting to see a correlation between wins/losses and strategy
in a future poll.

1.Somehow I missed seeing the results poll till it was
over. I think I won a small amount playing vp this
year. I can only approximate this as I do not keep
records. If I won or lost it wasn't much either way.

2. I have always felt that card counters can have a
small negative effect on the non card counter in
Blackjack. The negative efffect occurs because a card
counter often plays more hands when the deck is
positive so in a negative deck you get to play x but
when the deck turns positive you get to play x-y
hands. When you know the person is a card counter the
non-card counter can compensate for this by increasing
his or her bet but you don't always know or have faith
in the persons skills. Whether I am correct in this
belief or not this of course in no way excuses the
actions of the Greektown casino.

Interesting comment; implies that playing advantage machines would
assure a win!

What am I missing here? Looks like 3 reported such a loss. Are you
thinking that there were more who didn't report in this category?

Are they including value of comps and perks in the results?

Can't speak for anyone else, but I didn't include anything but cash!

Cash back should have been included. Comps and perks should not
have been included.

To rephrase it, a lot of folks just don't want to talk about it for various
reasons, privacy being one of them. I can see the value of this information
to other players though, especially if there's an opportunity to look at
strategy/results.

Totally incorrect. Non counters are not taking advantage of the count
& therefore have no special advatage to lose. It is the counters that
suffer from non counters eating cards with bad splits in positive
decks & doing the opposite in negative decks. Non counters are just
getting cards passively. More or less hands in positive/negative
decks meaningless to them.

As this does not deal with video poker I don't think
that it should be argued here but I will say that I do
