"Poker room" gambling on machine?

Seeing as how the online casinos manage live games (such as Texas Hold-em), have any of the casinos considered trying games from video monitors within the casino?

Whereas you could join in a game among other players in the casino, or even within several casinos.

I'd be interested. Don't know if anyone else would.

...I guess one problem might be either creating a machine where only you could see your cards, or perhaps, they could locate single machines with a hooded screen facing a wall, player sitting in seat with back to wall.

This has already been done. Each player has an individual screen showing his cards (face down) along with some other information. To peek at your cards, you "shield" the cards with your hands much in the same manner as you would with real cards, and the cards "peel up" on the screen when your hands touch the cards on the screen. It actually has a very natural feel to it.

I'm sure is working just fine in some casinos, but I know of at least one
case out in Palm Springs where it completely failed. They converted their
poker room to an all electronic system like this. The system had a swipe
card that had your chips but was confusing to use. Also, some of the older
crowd just plain didn't like the machines. It just plain alienated a lot of
players and now this casino doesn't have a poker room at all

I've played on these tables at Excalibur. Advantages? Lower rake,
no need to tip your dealer, and more hands per hour.
