In the past several months, several of you have written that you
utilize pocket pcs to help you play VP. Some have Winpoker installed,
others use Excel to lay out strategy, etc. I am looking for advice
from you concerning what Pocket PCs you have or recommend. What
Operating System they use. I am not interested in Phone capability and
Internet usage is not a priority. I have used Palm and Handspring in
the past but like a Pocket PC because of its ability to run Winpoker
by, I think, Zamzow. It runs on Pocket PC 2003 and Windows Mobile 5.0.
Thanks,

Not sure if I can help you. Internet access and a camera WERE
priorities for me when I bought my Cingular 3125. Essentially, in one
device that easily fits into my pocket I have it all. In addition, it
doubles as a modem for my laptop that I can use whereever I have cell
phone coverage.
I think you will want to make sure the screen size is sufficient for
whatever device you buy. Too small of a screen will make it very hard
to see the cards.
My device runs windows mobile 5.0. I know 6.0 is available now so most
new devices will probably be running it. I assume it should be
compatible but you might want to check it out before you buy.
You should also check out the processor speed if you think you will be
analyzing many games. It takes a lot longer on my phone than you might
want. My phone has a 200 mhz processor.

Dell has dropped their Axim line, but if I have to replace mine, I will endeavor to find one on ebay. May just do it now for backup.
I think HP is maybe last manufacturer making a Pocket PC PDA only (no phone).
You can get Axim51v on Ebay, runs Window Mobile 5. Has two slots, wifi, bluetooth, and beautiful screen for watching movies or playing VP.
Lots of information about all this at

Thanks to all who answered. I was curious if Winpoker would work with
Mobile 6.0 and you anwered that. I plan to look for a fast processor
(624) so your input helped with that too. The screen size will be a
minimum of 3.5 inches. AT&T Tilt has a 2.8 inch screen and it was
stated that Winpoker looks great on it. Too bad Dell no longer makes
their splendid Pocket PCs or I would have gone with them. I have no
problem buying off of eBay but would prefer to buy from dealer if it is
a new item. Probably will buy the HP iPaq 2795, very similar to Dell's
top of the line.
It will be a Merry Christmas gift to myself. Merry Christmas to you
and yours and may you all have safe holidays.

I have the iPaq rx3715 Mobile Media and Winpoker works very well on
it. The analyze function doesn't really take long at all.

I assume you downloaded the pwdemoinstall.exe that is 294KB in size.
Hope this helps,

If your sprint mogul is anything like my Dell Axim pocket pc with win
mobile 5.0, I had to download the install program to a windows pc,
install it, then transfer the application to the Dell Axim. Hope this
helps. I don't think the install program will run directly on the
mobile device.
BTW, the full pocket pc version is excellent.
