Please Keep Your Germs at Home!

We went to Red Rock for a nice weekend nights stay I found myself sitting next to a oman and her husband playing optimum poker. The woman had a box of Kleenex on the machine and was coughing and blowing her nose continuously! Nothing like having a stack of used tissues sitting on the keys of a video poker machine!! Give me smokers and propped up feet any day! Please, sick people stay home!!

Why not just quarantine them? Staying at home might not be enough.

You may think overreacting, but when someone's snot rag is leaning on your drink, and they cough on your keys....it is gross beyond words.

It would be interesting to see if you would stay in your room your whole vacation if YOU got sick in Vegas.

Certainly, that's gross, but you don't have to sit there.

The question begs, why did you sit down? Playing FP VP and risking illness? Who is the sick one here...(-;

I thought the rule was to shoot them on sight.

I know that we would rather not be exposed to the germs, but at least she had tissues. I've seen people cough or sneeze into their hand and then hit the buttons or handle their cards with the same hand.
This is another reason to make sure that you wash your hands after playing any machine.

What's next?

You probably want us to to use the ashtrays or wash our hands after sitting on the toilet. The floors provide a nice ashtray and I love the smell of the toilet on my fingers with every puff I take...

There's excellent reason for being afraid of a person sneezing.

H1N1 and possible death? Or simply regular flu, and being sick and out of commission for several weeks, because a compulsive and anti-social gambling addict couldn't stay away from the casino while ill?

"CDC estimated that between 34 million and 67 million cases of 2009 H1N1 occurred between April and November 14, 2009. The mid-level in this range was about 47 million people infected with 2009 H1N1.

CDC estimated that between about 154,000 and 303,000 2009 H1N1-related hospitalizations occurred between April and November 14, 2009. The mid-level in this range was about 213,000 H1N1-related hospitalizations.

CDC estimated that between about 7,070 and 13,930 2009 H1N1-related deaths occurred between April and November 14, 2009. The mid-level in this range was about 9,820 2009 H1N1-related deaths."

Risking this unnecessarily equates to taking a chance in life!
Good grief.

Good. Glad we got this cleared up.

Again, why did you subject yourself to this? I would have been as put off as you, but there is no way I would have stuck around just to test my immune system either!

It's been an hour since your message about suuny weather and people's nerves. What's the over/under that your message closes this thread?

I did get up and leave and did not return to that bank of games.

AND to those others who posted about being sick in Vegas and staying in your room.....January 2009 4 Days Booked at Paris, with Food Comp..
after check in, started feeling odd..played half hour...never left the room again. I many be a sicko gambler...but, did not want to cough, hack, and be digusting to those around me!

Good for you. Not everyone wants their entire vacation ruined, however, and will go down and play. You should expect that in a vacation destination anywhere you go, not just in Vegas with "sicko gamblers".

Two trips ago I got home from Vegas and got sick with a cold. It sucks, but it's part of life. I didn't go on a newsgroup and berate sick people about keeping their germs at home, though.
