Please explain "Bankroll" and which Denomination to play.

Very good points Dick!
If I end up playing the 9/6 DDB (1-coin in), holding the lone Ace
rather than Ace and K or J of the same suit, I thought is the right
play since 4 Aces pays $400 vs RF paying only $250.

Gilbert,

Most of the games you noted were about 1% lower payback at the .25
level (except for JOB which was around 2%). The loss for the royal
will average out to around 1.3%, so playing the dollars will

actually

cost a little in the long run but should also reduce the

volatility.

You should also note there may be stragegy differences as well.

Dick

PS. It would bother some people to get short pay royals. If this
bothers you as well, it should be another consideration.

This is just a matter of semantics, but my understanding of the common usage
of "bankroll" and "bankroll calculations" is different .

Accordingly I've just added Question #55 to the FAQ to accompany Question #56
which deals with bankroll calculations:

As to definition of bankroll, there is nothing to be gained by
thinking that it means anything other than the *maximum* amount you are
willing to wager when you walk into a casino. If you walk into any
Indian casino or any Vegas casino and you've got 300 bucks in your
pocket to gamble with, that's your bankroll.

Trip bankroll - The amount of money available and earmarked for video poker

Session bankroll - The amount of money available and earmarked for a video

56. How large of a bankroll do you need to play video poker? - Depends on the

Does already exist a writeup on "ways of comping" for VP?
If it does, I just couldn't find it in the VPFree links... but that doesn't
mean too much, there sooo much cool info I could have missed it.

Example:
comping based on coin-in average per
vs
comping based on theoretical loss (and then perhaps a description of that)

I ran into this difference between MSS and Sunset and thought it might be
helpful for others to understand the two and the difference. MSS uses
average coin-in per day and Sunset uses theoretical loss, they came out
relatively close but it depends on the requirement of the individual
property.
I tried searching on theo and theoretical in the history of messages but
there were so many people using the word theoretical in a different fashion
that it became unbearable.
