What else would you recommend on the Strip? I am usually making my
trips to LV with people that want to stay in one of the nice Strip
casinos. I always make side trips to places like MSS or the Palms
for the VP. But if I want to try to maximize room offers while
finding some decent $.25/$1 machines, what would people recommend?
Keep in mind I generally make 1-2 long-weekend trips per year, and I
usually play 9/6 Jacks or 8/5 BP for $1, FPDW or DDB for $.25.
I stayed at Paris last time, but I've had a nightmare trying to check
my comps online (I set up a PIN while in LV but it doesn't recognize
it online). And if Harrah's purchase does go through, I will
probably write off all of the current Caesar's properties.
My next trip is in a couple of weeks & I'm staying at the Mirage (for
a conference). I don't expect to do a lot of gambling there due to
the high minimums for tables and decent VP.
Thanks in advance for any advice people can offer.
I don't dispute that Ballys/Paris may still be a good high rollers
play, but with the removal of the Pickem games and the lack of any
decent quarter plays it is no longer a decent place to play for mid
and low rolling VP players.
I spent many hours on the dollar pickem machines there. It was a
good
play, I had some good trips and some bad ones. I had a steady
stream
of free room offers from marketing and we stayed at Paris for a
couple of nights on every one of our trips to Las Vegas.
With the current VP inventory, I am moving on. There are many
