Player's Edge is getting kind of depressing

I have been saying the same thing as you just have. the players edge columns have been horrible as of late.
we get better info in this group and from jean than we ever get from those two bozos.
i say jean should write the column instead of them.

great promos and deals and bargains and such. Now---an announcement
about Coast Casinos' NEW MUCH MUCH WORSE SLOT CLUB!!!! And how you can
get a apple pie at South Point. Whee.

Do things suck that badly in Vegas nowadays, or are there a lot of
deals that just don't make it into the Friday column?

I suppose, but Jean Scott and her loyal disciples are about as

diametrically opposed to the casino power bloc (that pays for
advertising in that selfsame newspaper) as you can get. I would expect
that the LVRJ might be hesitant to run any of Jean's columns, whose
overriding message is, "don't let the casinos screw you".

The guys who write the Friday columns, by contrast, have been snuggled
warmly in bed with the casino industry for some time. A dead giveaway
here is that in the "Player's Edge" column, they quite often just cut-
and-paste casino promotional releases, without offering any
evaluations (a salient example of this is their "info" on the NEW
IMPROVED Coast Casinos slot club). They have degenerated to the status
of casino parrots.
