Do you know anyone who ever won with this or the $500 every 10
minutes come-on gimick?
Yes. I won $1,000 last week at the Fiesta Rancho, play $1 9/6 Jacks
with a progressive for the royal and getting 3x points. In fact, I'll
be leaving for the Fiesta in about half an hour for this
week's "gimmick"!!

I'm gonna suggest that it would be fair to say that Louis has the
typical AC promo of this type in mind with his question. AC casinos
tend to run the most obnoxious of these events.
A respectable casino would qualify those players who've had their
cards in a machine recently for each drawing. In AC, it's not unusual
to qualify anyone who's inserted their card after 8a for "winner must
be present" drawings beginning at 5p that afternoon. Order of the day
is that unclaimed prizes aren't awarded.
I find it quite likely that less than $.20 on the dollar of the prize
pool are actually awarded in these events.
