This may be a bit off the VP side of things and maybe even inappropriate for this particular
forum, for which I apologize.

But, to plow forward, like a bull in a china shop, as a Texan, what sort of thoughts should I
have about state tax consequences, were I to visit Louisiana for some VP and had a lucky
streak?

I have placed a similar question at the La. sub-section of vpFREE, but the "traffic" there
seems to be a lot less than it is here.

Thanks.

Never mind! I found message 56528 from misscraps. That seems to say it all.

Louisiana withholds 6%. (This was a shocker to me and I thought
rather high.)

You will need to file a tax return and there is a minimum Lousisana
tax of 2.4%. It is not all refundable.

The Louisiana form can be completed on-line and completing the form
is easy but the method of how they determine the taxable amount
seemed weird.
