Players Club

We are well into October now and I was curious if anyone has received their players card yet? I have been a Sagamore for 8 or 9 years now and I have received nothing. I know I earned enough points for this next 6 month period, but I don't know if they have changed other criteria for qualification. I thought I was ok with the no points earned thing but after doing so for about a month it really sucks.

If you win money you don't feel so bad, but when you have a losing session and lose your money and have been playing for hours and earned nothing it's not a good feeling!

I'm not sure what I am going to do from this point on. I am a $1 player usually Pick'em, but I may just drop down to quater play and go much less often.

Would like to hear what others have or will be doing on this matter.
I guess the party is over :frowning:

Thanks

I was going about twice a month giving them about $60k per visit. Since Aug 1 I have gone once and gave them token action to cash some coupons.

I have taken several trips to other casinos that I would not have visited because of the MS downgrade. Right now I have no reason to go to Mohegan.

When they first announced the change I was dismayed because I think they overreacted. Then I accepted it. Now I actually get pissed off. After giving them the action I did they continue to send me $25 free play offers as if that is a great award for my past royalty.

Now just figuring out how to use my points.

Haven't gotten my card yet, but the website still has me listed as Sagamore, and I received my Sagamore mailer for October. Meanwhile they got 1700 points worth of play, all but 100 before they changed the machines. Formerly, I gave them upwards of 4000 points play per six months. But I've begun playing at Foxwoods for the first time, beginning in January, and have hit for 10 W2G's YTD, as compared to 4 for the Sun, on about equal play. Foxy is showing the love, while the Sun is giving the finger.

As for using your points:

You have the right idea but assuming you are playing competent 9-6 JOB in AC I think "amazing" is a stretch of what one can expect in the long term.

We switched to FW for 6 days of gambling on their $1 10 coin 9/6 DDB (aka short pay devil game). Then saved our gambling bankroll and gambling time for a 7 day trip to Vegas as FW sucks but not as much as MS.
Got back yesterday.
Jet Blue for $300 RT each. Jet Blue eases the 6 hour flight ordeal.

FP was $500 at Hilton, $150 Main Street, $150 Strat, $100 Green Valley. Also, $300 at our favorite the Aquarius in Laughin which required a car rental (That car added a lot to the trip).

We gambled mostly on 10/6 DDB, 10/7 DB(Progressive to boot at Aquarius and scratch cards at Main Street)and 99.9% Joker; all with cashback/freeplay as part of their player's card. At the Strat the best they have is 8/5 Bonus and 9/6 DDB so we put through $10K on the DDB which with the $150 FP made it a positive gaming experience for about 3 hours. Except for the Strat, we put a $1K through a slot machine called "quick hits" for an hour each day in an attempt to stay under the radar. That is a fun slot machine.

My wife says we ended up $200 down on gambling. The FP offers covered that $200 hit and flight, car and incendental expenses. Gave the joints $300K action.

You asked what others are doing as an alternative to Mohegan. That's what we will be doing. For those that can - highly recommneded alternative. For those that can't and live in Massachusetts, remember to oppose any license request by syndicates that have a relationship with Mohegan.

Mohegan has gone from a decent play to probably the worst play on the East coast in a very short time. It's really sad when you can say FW beats Mohegan. I was downgraded to Sagamore after being Sachem for years and the reason was 'profitability'. My wife was downgraded to Sachem from Sachem Club. Between now and March we may go a few times for a show and room since we can still get it comped. After March we will not return. We spend a lot of time in Fla and will play at the Hard Rock Hollywood. Other that that we may give A/C a shot and visit Vegas more often.

The part is over. The question is how poorly can you be treated and still come back for more.

Joel
