Any suggestions? I'm wondering, in particular, how much play various
casinos require to comp rooms + airfare.
Hi Kate,
Airfare comp, being a cash reimbursement, is something that I suspect
only a handful of the members here have ever obtained. It's typically
the perk of the high roller at any given property, and given the
content of your post I suspect that you're among the bulk of us who
wouldn't even dream of asking on the play we give.
On the other hand, if you have reason to suspect that your play is
very strong (and this would mean that you qualify for comps beyond
just upgraded free rooms and full comped access to all restaurants) it
never hurts to ask a host with whom you've become generally chummy
just what the requirements would be.
For an idea of play requirements for comp rooms, the casino database
here provides relatively strong guidelines for a number of casinos.
It should be your first resource.
If you find a property where you're likely to give sufficient play for
a comp, but aren't currently sufficiently rated (or receive offers
from), just remember to book a room at a discounted "casino rate" from
a casino host.
You're strongly advised not to book yourself into the casino under a
package deal since, on occasion, it can be more difficult to obtain an
after-the-fact comp on a room for which you've made payment in advance
to a third party (or for that matter, to hotel marketing - which in
many cases is operated separate from casino marketing).
