Planning a trip to Reno/Lake Tahoe

We are thinking of staying in a Harrah's property at Lake Tahoe. We've never been there before, so if anyone can provide us with some info on which Harrah's property might be the better one. We understand that the two properties are connected, but we would like to have the one with the most spectacular views of the lake. We also hope to have outdoor things to do that don't require a rental car. Is this possible, or we would be isolated without a car? If so, we may decide just to go straight to Reno. Thanks for any suggestions!

Harvey's has the best views. You can easily walk to the lake from
there. Getting to restaurants off the casino properties might be
problematic without a car.

Best,

Harvey's overlooks the lake, however if you get a room at Harrah's higher up and looking towards the lake it probably wouldn't be too bad.
If you've never been before then I HIGHLY recommend renting a car, so you can drive to the surrounding areas as you please (Carson City, North Shore Tahoe, Reno, Virginia City)
