place to stay permanent-ish

Hi, friends. Would appreciate your advice. Looking to get a place in Vegas
close to the strip to have year-round and visit when we can.
Low-maintenance is important. Don't need fancy, but want safe and clean.
Tired of moving hotel-to-hotel when we visit. Really appreciate your
thoughts!

I'd find a real estate agent (but I'm crazy that way).

Hi, friends. Would appreciate your advice. Looking to get a place in Vegas

My daughter Lisa has some great ideas for you. She can be reached at 714 328-4403. She is a real estate agent though who works very hard to find you exactly what you want and has a drive for your needs. Suggest that you at least talk to her.

Good point, and certainly on the agenda. I was really looking to this group for suggestions on areas or spots we might have missed. Probably want to rent for a year or two while we assimilate, so looking for some tips there. My experience with this group is that there are many sage souls, so just hoping to tap into that.

She does rentals also

Thanks, Carol! I'll give her a call this week. If anyone else has any suggestions, I'd be grateful. Happily planning a VP trip to LV in a few weeks, so see some of you soon

We took advantage of the housing crash back in late 2009 and after 12 months of looking and being taken all over the Southwest and other areas by realtors, my wife took it over and searched at home and came up with the perfect house in the perfect location. It's a rather rural area just south of the car rental center and just east of the premium outlet mall, most all homes have 1/2 acre and up, quite a few even have horses, and we are literally only 4-1/2 miles from Center Strip (Caesars/Flamingo). It's only 2 miles from Mandalay Bay. We stay a couple nights at a strip hotel and then stay at the house for a week or so at a time when we visit Vegas and loan it out to friends who want to visit Vegas.

We rented for a year before buying. In hindsight, it would have been a a good idea to have worked with an agent. Please check out Rent.com, though, it might help you see what your options are.

If you are interested in renting initially I highly recommend contacting Corey thru the VP Exchange (vacation rental) his phone, fax and email are listed. He assisted us when we were house hunting and has a selection of areas to recommend and rent (condos, houses etc). Let him know where you saw his info

Sincerely
Sherry
