Pioneer Hotel & Gambling Hall Low Roller Promos

The Pioneer has been rolling out several low roller promos. They have a Card of the Day (in Sept on Mon/Wed) for 100 coins for .25,.50 and $1 denominations. The October/November mailer has not made it to my house with the calendars for the COD.

They have a NASCAR drawing on Sundays. Points earned from 4am-5:30pm only, 300 ($600 coin-in) gets a ticket. At 6pm they give away $25,$50 and $75 free-play and logo items. Usually there are less than 50 tickets in the drum. The Big Bang Finale is for two Sprint car tickets for the 2011 Las Vegas race, need not be present for the BBF.

They started a "Beer and a Bet" promo in conjunction with their Lucky's Sportsbook. You can earn a voucher once a week with 500 points ($1k) or a $20 Parlay bet. The three part voucher has a coupon for a free Coors draft (woopee!), a $5 match-play parlay (3-7pm on Mondays) and a drawing ticket for MNF. The halftime drawing is for a "future" $50 bet and logo stuff. I got voucher #107, so there were only 6 tickets in the first week's drawing. The BBF is Dec 13th. First name drawn has a choice of a 40" flat screen TV or two tickets to the Cardinal/Cowboy game on Christmas day. Second name gets the leftovers.

One more, a Sunday/Monday night River Bar promo. Starting at 5pm you earn raffle-style tickets sitting at Sassy Sue's Saloon. They give away $50 at half-time and at the end of the game, plus you know, logo items. Ant drink "purchase" got one ticket and any quad or four to a royal scare earned several. They put your name on the back of the ticket. At least last Sunday, purchase meant comped.

I had back to back quads and one scare by halftime. What surprised me is they also gave away stadium food, hotdogs and bean dip nachos. They even had a condiment bar set-up. OBTW, I won the half-time drawing for $50 free-play.

By the end of the game there were about twelve of us left, it was a crummy game. I am not sure, even after reading the rules, if I was eligible to win again.

Anyway, you can double-dip promos, play on a COD day and earn points for other promos. Play on Sunday for three different drawings. I am in low roller heaven at the Pioneer.

BS

P.S. There is a pit football promo too, earn a square on the pool board type of deal.

The Pioneer is trying very hard. Sure- the Pioneer has sub standard rooms and short on amenities, the casino is smokey, they still have a lot of the old coin clunkers, no fine dining anymore, they don't send out hardly any mailer offers, the cocktail staff is almost twice the age of other casinos, it is not too clean and they play C @ W music 24/7 (I hate that stuff)--- but it is a great place for a visitor like me.

The drawings at other casinos that give away a car or other high value items don't work for me, as they always seem to have the deal where you earn drawing tickets for the last couple of months. I don't have a chance coming into town for a couple of nights.

Give me a drawing where you show up and play a little and have a good chance to win something. $50 in free play is all ok for me with only a few people in the drawing. As always, try to figure out the EV.

A little off this topic, but the Pioneer has been offering on Friday evenings all the tacos, beer and margaritas you can eat and drink for only $10. I wonder how many a person could consume?

I got to witness this Happy Hour deal. You get a wristband upon paying your sawbuck. The only beer included is Lucky Lager (actually Coors). They were blending the Margaritas. The Tacos come in 3-packs, bartender routinely asks if you need more.

What is interesting is the clientele who shows up. Youngsters looking for a deal in about a 50/50% male/female mix. So it was entertaining for regulars too. The jukebox gets played, pool balls get smacked and I even saw my first Beer Pong game in Sassy Sues.
