Pinnacle anyone

Has anyone here gone the VP route with at Pinnacle?

The rewards seem fewer but bigger.

Thanks

Rich

What do you mean, “Has anyone here gone the VP route with at Pinnacle?”? I live about 15 minutes from a Pinnacle property whose best games are 9/6 JoB, 8/5 BP, and the 99.45% version of Bonus Deuces Wild. Their cashback rate for playing these games is almost zero, and you are no mailed for even playing them. The good news is that this property is in the process of being sold to Boyd, who will do people a favor and get rid of those machines altogether or have a players’ club that will be worth giving them some action should they decide to keep these machines. Pinnacle and its My Choice program doesn’t really offer much of a choice IMHO.

And Pinnacle as a whole has been sold to Penn Gaming, so "going for something" now is likely pointless. Missouri Ameristars are being sold to Boyd gaming to avoid a Penn Gaming monopolies in STL and KC.

Boyd doesn’t seem as concerned about full paytable VP as most other casino operators as long as it doesn’t exceed 100% payback. On those games they generally reduce the points by half. They also don’t generally offer demons above $1. Many if not most of their current properties offer some version of fullpay VP. So my guess is they will keep the few 9/6-8/5 machines currently at Ameristar-St Louis.

I’m more interested is seeing if they do anything with the VP inventory at the current Ameristar-KC. I think it is somewhat unlikely they would improve paytables that are already there and being played with abandon, but if they did offer some 9/6 Jacks or 8/5 Bonus fullpay they would have the only playable VP in the city. Which I’m sure would generate some interest.

It was more CZR Vs Pinnacle. I can see where you would take Boyd over Pinnacle.

I don’t live near a property in either system so a mailer is not that of a plus for me. I would have to play heavy on the multiplier days. The higher club levels looked more interesting that the CZR system. I was never big on their events or giveaways at CZR. I liked the sound of $500 for airfare or the car lease that Pinnacle does or even the PR accommodations before that became problematic… There used to be a lot of active 7 Star posters here I wondered if there were any Pinnacle Owners level or other high level card holders that might share their thoughts.

I live 2 hours from AC. The Borgata is the place but I hate the drive and they are not bus friendly. I also like the Boardwalk to walk along but the VP has been bad for years.

I expect you are the Robert Reid called Saturday night for the drawing at Ameristar KC. Congratulations!
