About two years ago, my friend and I were playing ten cent Deuces Wild
Big Split at Peppermill. He was dealt five royal cards, two deuces and
a random card. Although this represents the highest possible payout
(4,000 x 15 = 60,000 credits), the machine did not automatically put
the cards in the right place for top payoff . If there is any game that
lends itself to a mistaken hold, it is Big Split. Luckily, we figured
out what to do, and when the correct hold was made, the machine locked
up for a $6,000 hand pay. I can conceive of someone with a few drinks
under his belt messing this one up.
