Now that is a jackpot. I hope it was at a Harrahs property, because
then the machine would be taken out and shot.

Come on be realistic. Shoot a machine? That's
crazy talk. They'd reprogram the machine and
shoot the nearest low ranking employee. Sheesh.
Still a pretty cool hit. Wonder what kind of
bankroll is needed for 50 pay $'s.

Does the machine just lock up when this happens or do you have to hold
the cards?

My dealt 100play RF auto-held. What was unusual was it displayed each
of the 100lines very slowly.

I would assume you've never been dealt a royal, then.
Every time I've been dealt a royal, whether single or multi-line, all
five cards have been autoheld and the machine went directly to payout
(or "CALL ATTENDANT").
I've been told it's law (in at least NV) that a dealt top line hand
HAS to autohold. I don't know that that's true, but it's definitely
been my experience.

I've never seen a machine that doesn't give the player the option to

cards and then press "DRAW" to then cause the lockup and all the
subsequent hoopla.
Hey KF
Reading these posts reminds me of a story posted by me about beating
someone out by seconds on a SF prog draw. A few seconds cost the guy
across from me 100s of dollars. Then Elliott Shapiro posted a story of
a 4 royal draw that cost a guy thousands by not drawing fast enough.
There is a funny twist to his story.
For those who don't know, Elliott was a well respected long time
member of vpFREE; a really nice guy. There is a rememberance page on
vpFREE and is worth the time to read through.
The first post about SF prog fast draw... post #31417. The follow up
post by Elliott tells a really funny story about a 4 roy prog draw..
Not about locked up dealt royals but a dealt royal would eliminate the
need to fast draw on progressives.
Cheers....Jeep

I don't know about NV law, but my husband hit a dealt royal in AC
and I had one in LA -- both autohold.
We had discussed that probably the reason the machine locks up in
case someone just gets too excited (too drunk, too stupid, too
whatever) and hits the wrong buttons. Then the casino has a mess on
their hands when customer complains.
I talked to change attendants about our theory, and they confirmed
that that is exactly why the machine locks up. It saves the casino
time and agony.
But someone else might have a better explanation.

All 15 of my dealt royals have automatically locked up the machine,
with the exception of the two which were on a Multi-strike, the
machine held, scored it up and moved to the next line automatically.
