Pickem question

Last night I noticed that all the $1 pickem machines were being used yet the quarter machines behind them were not. I am new to this game and have a few questions.

1. Why would this be?

2. When I played $1 pickem the max bet was $5 are all the machines in that area the same. The area I am referring to is the old poker room raised floor in the back.

3. On the quarter machines I was able to play $25 per hand. I assume the odds are the same is this where you play if you want to play more than $5.

I am new to this and trying to figure it out.

Thanks

1. According to the VPFree2 database, the 8 slant quarter P'em's have been downgraded to shortpay.
I've never played them myself, but I assume that is accurate info.
2. VPFree2 lists 20 $1 machines as full pay - I haven't counted them myself, but I believe that covers the two back-to-back rows slants & uprights
3. I believe based on the above that your assumption is incorrect about the paytables.

You should also be aware that the coin-in rate on the $1 P'ems is 270 to the $1 (0.37%) vs. $150 to $1 (0.667%) on all the other VP machines.

Good luck

Thank you very much for your reply. Here is the next dumb question what does coin in rate mean?

Basically, I should be playing the $1 machines max bet of 5 coins. I knew there had to be a reason why all those machines were being used and the quarter machines were empty:).

Thanks in advance

Only dumb question is the one that doesn't get asked, but should have been. (I'm assuming you have a players card, as that's how you get various rewards, free play show invites, etc) You earn comps on your player card, based on the games you play. One point = $1 in comps, good for shopping, food, etc. If you're not familiar with Vpfree2, you should check out the website: www.vpfree2.com

From the VPFree2 database:

  * $150 Coin-In = 1 Point (All VP except Pick-em) Earned Comps: 1 Point = $1 (0.667%)
  * Pick-em Full Pay $1 and up $270 Coin-In = 1 Point (above $1 VP) Earned Comps: 1 Point = $1 (0.37%) t
  * Cashback: NONE
  * Marketing Comps: Yes
  * Bounce Back Cash: No but Freeplay up to $750 several times per month
  * Discretionary Comps: Yes
  * Points Expire: Never
  * Slot club day runs from: 6:00AM to 6:00AM

Your coin in rate is how much money you are cycling through a machine in a period of time. For example,with $1 video poker, 5 coins per hand, playing 500 hands per hour, your hourly coin in rate is $5 x 500 = $2500.00

So if you are playing the $1 Pick Em's, you would earn $2500/$270 = $9.25 in comp points for each hour you played. If you were playing the other V.P. machines, you would earn $2500/$150 = $16.66 comp points per hour of play.

I believe that this is incorrect. You have to show some activity( probably one pt.) within a year.

You may well be correct, but I just cut & pasted directly from the vpfree2 database. If I get a chance this weekend, I'll ask at the Players Club
