Ok so I have been playing pickem poker for almost 2 years, first of
all I cant believe there is all this info on here... so my question
is this, when sitting down to play how much money do i need to start
with?
Pickem poker
That depends on...
1. What denomination are you playing?
2. How long do you intend to play? (1 hour? 5 hours? 50 hours?)
3. Is there cashback?
4. Do you make many errors in play?
5. Do you lose any money to tax withholding?
6. How much do you plan to tip?

In that case, here are some bankrolls with corresponding risk-of-ruin:
$500, less than 0.05% (less than 1 in 2000)
$400, 0.3%
$300, 5%
$250, 11%
$200, 23%
I should have also asked how fast the original poster played. For
the numbers above, I assumed 400 hands/hour.
Some extra info: If you set a goal of winning $200 and stop when you
hit that goal, then your chance of succeeding is 23%, regardless of
whether you start with $200 or $500. However, your chance of ending
up at least $200 ahead if you play the entire 5 hours is just 13.5%.

WOW well thank you very much, honestly all you guys on here are my
heros! You have really changed my out look on this....I love
pickem poker even more now. When I play there is the option to go
double or nothing up to 4 times.....I have done it in the past and
it worked out really well but I want to know what the experts here
have to say about doing this

Just as a matter of clarification, I think it is the number of hands
played, and not the hours or the rate at which you play. Of course if
you maintain a steady rate of 400 hands an hour for 5 hours, you
would play 2000 hands. It is the number 2000 that matters.
Dunbar could correct me if I am wrong.
