pick'em hands per hour?

I'm wondering how many pick'em hands per hour people are playing?

I went to MS yesterday, accumulated 41 points playing 0.25 pick'em (5
coins per play) in 8 hours. If the rate is $160 played = 1 point,
then, this says that I played 5248 hands, or, 656 hands per hour (11
hands per minute). This doesn't seem possible. Am I playing much
faster than I think, or have I missed something else?

Thanks.

I average about 700 hands/hour on the $1 machines. I think the
fastest possible speed you could get out of those machines is
somewhere around 725 hands/hour.

Just also thought I'd mention that I was at MS on Wednesday and hit a
$1 PE royal -- my second one in about 5 months. I keep fairly good
records, and I've played about 340,000 total hands of PE since I
started in June, so I'm doing pretty well (the royal cycle on PE is
about 352,000 hands).

Realize you can play a lot faster when you're losing since most of
your time is waiting for the credits to add up.

You can avoid that waiting by pressing the max bet button just after any winning hand. This will instantly add on your win credits.

Gee, since Mohegan Sun downgraded their games seems like there is no reason
for anyone to post on the New England group anymore. Anyone still going
there? If not, what are you doing instead? I've made two successful trips
to AC...certainly not as close but not bad for a change of pace.

I played the bartop $ jacks and the quarter PE yesterday. Lost on
the VP but made a few hundred playing video keno and .01 slots. I
walked by the lone .25 8/5 50-play Super Aces and there was one guy
playing 500 quarters a hand and he had a hand pay quite often. Kiss
that play goodby soon. -Russ

Was there Wed. night also. Played $1 JOB at bartops and 25c PE. Saw
same guy (bearded if I remember) at the SA machine. Spent some time
scouting but saw nothing encouraging. The staff at the old high limit
area did not appear to be too happy when I commented about the
downgrade. The high limit area and the old lounge were pretty empty.
Watching UConn win and coming back to reduce initial loss made the
evening ok, but I will avoid weekends because the bartops are likely
to be filled with slots sots.

My wife and I are off early today to play the bartops and the .25
pe. We still like the bartops and should be there early enough
(around 9:00 am) that we can get seats. We are seeing Toby Keith and
will let you know how crowded the bartops are tonight. We go to
Vegas every two months so as long as the 9-6 JOB exist we will still
make our monthly trip to the sun.

A buddy of mine and I had been driving down to MS from NH every two-three weeks for the past couple of years until the "changes" started. That's 300+ miles round trip. Now I get my $20 per week card and for the first time it states "not valid at Mobil station".

Not going to spend $25 for gas and drive 5 hours to play lousy pay schedules. We play PE but after a few hours it's a nice change to be a be able to play 9/6 or 8/5.

I just checked my $25 card and it stated Not valid for goods in the Mobil store .. But it does state "present your card to the Mobil attendant before you pump".

I was just thinking the same thing, not much activity on this board
anymore. There was some discussion about comp points and how people
try to turn them into cash, but that was about it. I was at MS a few
days after they made the "changes" to the 1$ PE. I played the quarter
PE in the Hall of the Lost Tribes, but that got kinda boring afer
awhile. All the bartops were taken, with people playing who knows
what...probably nickle or penny slots . I saw a couple who are
regular or at least semi-regular 1$ PE players still playing
the "altered" machines. Against my own better judgement I played them
a bit, of course I lost. That was the last time I was at MS which was
the end of January. I am thinking of going to Foxwoods for the first
time in 15 months. (and yes I am aware that they don't offer much in
the form of VP either) I don't have the time or the luxury of making
trips to Vegas or Atlantic city. ( I have never been to either one)
My choice is these two places. If I do go to Foxwoods what and where
would be my best 1$ VP machines?

Also at MS what is the best 1$ VP machines now..do they still have
9/6 Job or have they been "downsized" too? I really don't know what
to play anymore since I was playing 1$ PE about 95% of the time.

Thanks all

The $1 96 are still at the bar tops and actually not a bad option. The
problem is trying to get on them during a busy Friday or Saturday or for
that matter, any busy time. You risk heading to MS with a bankroll, not
getting on the game you want, so you end up playing Wheel of Fortune to kill
time while you wait for the bars to open up at 2 AM.

I just got back from MS. We got there Friday at 9 AM and it was easy
getting a bar top until around 4 PM. After dinner I was still able
to get a seat till the show which started around 7:30. When the show
let out at 11 the bartops were all taken. Got up around 7 AM Sat and
the bartops were empty. Left around noon and there were still plenty
of seats. I think the only time it is a real problem is the weekends
after like 5PM depending on what is in the arena. I like the JOB
better than PE as I find PE boring after a little while. For the
dollar player the 9-6 JOB is the better than anything that Foxwoods
has

Was there Wed. night also. Played $1 JOB at bartops and 25c PE. Saw
same guy (bearded if I remember) at the SA machine. Spent some time
scouting but saw nothing encouraging.

I talked to that guy. He was playing the short-paying machine this
time (apparently doesn't know the difference; on a previous night I
showed him how to find the pay schedule.) He's been playing it very
heavy for 2 weeks; I've seen him play over 8hrs+/night. It might
have been that night he won $35,000 on it, and then $4,000 the next
night. One night a suit was standing behind him staring intently.
Overall in two weeks, he told me he was up $40,000.

I decided to sample the SA machine myself. The SA machine's comp
rate is at 1/180 (worse than 1/160 that quarter machines were at a
year ago; I checked other machines in the row were in fact 1/90.)
You can play 5-10 credits per line at full-pay. What I didn't
realize is you can play 1,10,15,25, or 50 lines at full-pay. You're
best off playing 10 credits/line at a lower # of lines before you
move up in lines. An all ready high variance game becomes
increasingly more so when go multi-play. Jazbo's site indicates you
need almost double the bankroll to handle a ten-fold increase in # of
lines.

Starting with $100 playing one line at 5 credits, I quickly hit a
quad and went up to $162.50. Then, hitting very normal hands and not
feeling unlucky, it took only a few minutes to plummet back down to
$100. For those used to to PKM or even JOB, it's a drastic change.
For those who had occasional hard times hitting quads in PKM, this
game feels ten times worse. What is an incredible thought: you can
play 500 credits/hand; if you get a royal on the deal, you've won
$100,000; and on 50-play, you almost never lose your entire bet on a
hand.

If I do go to Foxwoods what and where would be my best 1$ VP
machines?

I've been going to AC which has been my major destination for
years except for the nice 4 month span Sept.-Jan. at the Sun. I'll
go to the Sun with my lady friend sometime in the spring to spend our
comp dollars and that will be the end !
