"Pick-em bankroll question"

Based on my experience (half a million hands) rather than math, I'd agree with the straight flush value.

Since the SF in Pickem occurs with roughly the frequency of royals in 5-card games, a bankroll of 3 - 5 straight flushes would sound reasonable. It takes a moderately bad day to lose the equivalent of a quad, and a REALLY bad day to lose the SF equivalent.

Personally, I normally go with a session bankroll of less than a quad equivalent ($100 for quarters, etc). If I lose it, I leave. Maybe once every 30 trips or so, I'll blow through it with a loss rate of more than 1 credit/hand played. These are the days when the "specials" (S/F/FH) decide to take some time off. I join them.

About bankroll. Without getting into serious math, if one uses a rough
estimate of 3- 5 royals for DW, DB, DDB, JB etc.. What rule of thumb
would one use for Pick-em since the royal is so rare? Would one use
the straight flush value? Just curious.
