"I would rather be lucky then good."
I had some comp dollars that were expiring at Mohegan Sun (9 months of
inactivity and they disappear), so I too a drive up there on Saturday
as I had to be up in CT anyway. I spent most of the comp dollars in
the overpriced mall they have there getting some Christmas shopping
done early. I decided to put $100 through a machine just to keep my
remaining comps alive for another 9 months. Donât know why I played 10
coin $ machine, just a âwhat the hellâ I want to blow through this
money and get back on the road. Less then 15 hands into it w/ $30 I
held the pair of Aces and drew the other 2. What skill, what
precision, what blind dumb luck.
As an FYI. MS now gives you the option of taking taxes out or getting
the full amount when you get a W2-G. All they wanted was a photo ID.
They took my word on my SSN.

MS *always* gave you that option (as did Foxwoods). I believe they
are just following CT state law, which requires them to either (1)
have you produce official US photo ID, then follow your wishes in
regards to taxes, (2) take out the required taxes IF you don't show
proper ID or (3) hold the payment (until you produce said ID) and
issue you a paper payout voucher (don't lose it-- it can not be
replaced).
Oh... next time you want to get rid of some money via 10-coin at MS,
why not try the short-pay 10 coin, 50 play $0.25 super aces
($125/hand)? I watched someone get dealt 4A's one day for $100K. Now
that is lucky.

Last W-2G from MS they took taxes out w/o asking. Looked at me like I
was a total bum for not having my SS card with me.
As for the 10 coin 50 play. I was going to put the $100 ($90 = 1 point
at $1 and up VP) through ONCE just to get the 1 point to keep my
account alive. In 10 hands I had a bunch of high pairs and nothing
else. I was just going to loose it all and walk out the door. Fate
smiled on me. $125 all in one hand is too rich for my blood. Not to
mention at the .25c level you need $180 through for the 1 point.

Next time tell them where to go. Really. You do not have to produce a
SS card EVER at either CT casino. All you need is proof of where you
live (as in the US, etc) and a good memory (of your TIN/SSN). You
must also confrim that the SSN on the W2G is indeed yours and that
the form is otherwise correct BEFORE you get the payout. If they
take out taxes and you didn't them want to (and you had correct ID,
etc), you can then tell them the form is wrong and make them fix it.
If they give you a hard time, just smile and ask them to send a
gaming commision person over (and be prepared to wait!!).

Excellent points. You are right about the points thing. Even so,
per-hour point earnings were (once) reasonable for that game
considering that the risk (of loss of a finite stake) is much much
lower than the equivelent single play game ($25/play). Hence, when
the game was full-pay, a couple of "pros" were hitting it quite hard
(sometimes at the 5 coin level or $62.50/bet). But even if the 50-
plays were not-correlated to each other (they surely are on
average!), it would be more risky to play it rather than the $0.25
single line games (for 10 coins or $2.50/pet) but at 30 or 35
coins/bet it would be the other way around (assuming the games were
otherwise the same, that is)! So if your ever looking for a quick,
exciting way to lose money, try that SA machine! (even 5 coin 50-play
SA is probably a faster way to lose money than 10 coin $0.35 single
play, but maybe not 30 coin.)
