I had quite a day yesterday! Was going after another of those pretty
trinket boxes at Rampart (I have gotten one each time they are offered, usually
with $5 but twice with $10). They make great gifts.
So, first I played on my ten-play for nickels and managed to eke out a win
(some of those boxes have been pretty expensive <gg>). Then, I decided to
throw away two twenties at the penny 100 plays which have poor schedules but are
great fun. I got a Royal and several sets of Aces on the Super Bonus Aces,
quitting with a $100 plus (you just can't play long on those machines - they
will eat your money like popcorn) and then on the same machine, played
deuces, catching three royals on my one draw.
Then I met a friend for dinner and played a little at the bar where I caught
Royal number 5 for the day, a 'real' one at 25 cents. It was 9-6 DB,
definitely not full-pay but the card god obviously watches over fools who play it
I held AQJT of hearts and laughingly pointed at the empty spot which
immediately filled with that lovely bearded King. I tipped the bartender and took
my happy friend to dinner.
