Yes, I continued to earn tier points at what seemed like my "normal"
rate both times comps cut to near zero. I understand this is different from others experience. I got stopped out on comps at about $200 the first time and $40 the next. I had played this machine on X comp days 3 or 4 times before in 2012 and never had comps reduced.
Also I do have a long history playing there.

In May, they cut my comp rate about a half hour into the session. They raised the amount of coin-in to earn a comp or tier point by a factor of 60 (a 98.3% reduction in comp rate). When I came back the next month, I played $200 through a slot machine and earned no tier or comps. I gave up and left and I have never gone back.
What you reported is better than what happened to me. At least, you are getting rated on your play if you are earning tier points. Are your comps capped at a specific dollar amount?
