Peppermill Trip Report

Went down Friday morning on Southwest (1 more trip and I get a free
one). Limo there and waiting, checked in around noon in a Spa Suite and
everything was great. Same friendly staff and my host is a great guy.
Played some 9/6 DDB at the quarter level (25 coin bet) at the bar in
the new sports book and got aces w/ kicker for $2500. 9/6 isn't so bad,
I never have really tried to see how many full houses I could get. Went
to the buffet Friday and Saturday night, there were 3 of us and both me
and a friend had a $50 dining coupon so 3 of us eating on 2 different
nights was just over $25. Saturday played $1 96/DDB over in the old
keno area and in a time frame of less than an hour I hit quad 2's w/
kicker, 2x quad aces w/o and quad aces w/ kicker for about $4400.
Played my butt off for 2 days, scored a lot of comp points and still
left town up about $4200. Say what you will about the Peppermill, I
still love it.

Congratulations on the great hits!!

Those of us that have expressed our concerns about the Pepp. are
disappointed that sooooo many games have been reduced. On any given
trip you can play a 99% game or a 101% game (good luck finding one)
and for that trip you can win a lot or loose a lot, but the more VP
you play the closer you will come to the EV of the game/s that you
choose to play. If you play 96% games you will quickly find that you
cannot stay ahead, the closer to 100% your games are the more likely
you can keep your head above water. (with the other perks added in)
Way back in my early days of VP, I hit 2 RFs on a $1 9/6 DDB machine
in 20 minutes, that was a hell of a day, but that didnt make it a good
game, and I will never play it again without some extremely good promo
or progressive. Just remember, 'You cant beat the math'.

all of the peppermill naysayers still like the place, we just want a
chance at a decent game.

Thanks. I only go to Reno about every 3 months or so, so the effect
on me is pretty minimal. I'm aware of the EV and all I'm trying to
say is that, to my knowledge, no casino in Reno or Vegas has better
than 9/6 DDB at the $1 level. I've been pretty lucky and am just
trying to put a positive spin on the bad posts the Peppermill has
been getting. Best I can tell, they are pretty much in line with
everybody else, better in a lot of cases and are pretty generous on
their comps.

Many Stations casino's in Vegas offer $1 10/6 DDB. As far as Reno goes, my last trip I played $ 9/6/6000=RF DDB at Circus Circus. Lost $800 on them as they were ice cold. At $25/ hand you might want to try 10/6/40 DDB ( 50C 10 coin DDB 5 Play ) at the Silver Legacy ( 4 machines in 2 different banks upstairs ).
