We play some at Atlantis too (enough to get free rooms and small free play), but their restaurants, hotel, and free play offers pale in comparison to what we used to get at Peppermill. About the only thing we like better there is the buffet (we stopped going to the PEP buffet after Biscottis, Bimini, and Chi opened). The Tuscany suites are far better than the Atlantis rooms, even the concierge rooms. And the casino is much roomier and more comfortable at PEP. ATL tends to be cramped and crowded.
But we can live without the nicer amenities. What really counts are the games and the free play offers. The games are similar at the level we play (although we liked the PEP selection a little better). But ATL never came close to the free play offers we got from PEP. With overlaps, we'd average around $1000 per person in free play per trip. Plus another $300-$500 in Mr. Money kiosk free play. I don't think we've ever gotten more than a few hundred in free play at ATL, although our play wasn't as big.
And every time I check Grand Sierra, they don't have crap for video poker that we like to play (Spinpoker, 50-play, 100-play, etc.). Maybe it's improved since the last time I checked it though (mid-2009).
As for comps at PEP, they don't really have a comp account per se. They use a guideline of 25% of theo, but it's all discretionary. We always overplayed compared to what we used, so I'm sure we had significant credit left over that's gone to waste now. But I'm not really worried about that. It's more having gotten cut off from the ability earn anything now, which of course means we'll never play there again. Which is a shame because it was just a much better place all around for our tastes.

Yeah, "I feel your pain", but it's been going on for some time now, welcome to the club. They reset your comp accounts right? How much comp did you lose? You might be able to file a complaint with gaming if you want to go that route, it's a little unfair that they can just seize comp that you've already earned. You should come over to Atlantis with the rest of the people that used to play at Peppermill, it's a much better casino anyway. Also try the Grand Sierra Resort, those seem to be the two casinos that actually want business and aren't afraid of high rollers. The rest are in "blame the customer for the downturn" mode and are hoping to get some sort of bailout or to use bankruptcy to dump some debt. Better to just ignore them till their customer service improves.

We got free play mailers in the range of $400 to $650, sometimes overlapping multiple offers on a trip. They've put us in the Tuscany suites, comped us hundreds of dollars in the gift shop, comped all our meals at any of the restaurants, and reimbursed our airfare and car rental. Life was good.

When we called our host to find out what happened to the others, they said those players were flagged as "advantage players". We were disappointed, but we still had enough offers for the other 2 players to justify a final trip. But when trying to book that, the host said Marketing had since flagged ALL of our accounts, rescinding all offers (even the ones we had letters for). No comps of any kind - rooms, food, free play, anything.

Maybe they just have a new Marketing Manager that has no shame. But no matter the reason, it's cause to beware of the Peppermill. You could be next.
