Spent an afternoon at the Peppermill end of last month, all VP. Got
a mailer yesterday for 2 free nights (Spa Suite - Sun / Thurs, Tower
Room - Fri / Sat) good until 3/10 (a couple black-out dates) and 2
$75 free plays on designated free play machine?? Does anybody know
if there are any good free play VP machines? Seems like a pretty
good promo. Any information will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Peppermill Promo Mailer
Most video poker machines at Peppermill have the free play sticker on them.
The qualifier is I didn't check a lot of machines my last one day visit. It was a rare
machine that did NOT have the sticker on it. (a green dollar $ sign sticker).
It's quite an easy system, you give the Promo desk a 4-digit PIN (remember it!) and
your slot card becomes a free play credit card: you use the keypad on any free play
slot or VP machine to grab as much of your free play as you want to load up the
credits. I think you cannot cash it out until you've played your original credits off, but
that goes quickly. My Dec visit I got $500 free play. (Cashed it out plus some!)
I just got a mailer that says I got $300 freeplay Jan 3 - Feb 3 and another $300
freeplay Feb 8 - March 10, 2005.
The fine print reads "Must be a registered hotel guest and provide valid picture ID for
FREE PLAY redemption." I don't always believe what I read, myself....

I got a mailer with $200 + $200 freeplay also. Mark: you
are a much higher roller! Anyway, I haven't set foot in the
Peppermill since last August, when I stayed for 2 days, played about
25 hours of vp, won a few bucks, and was totally disgusted with the
downgrading of a lot of their vp. Not to mention the good vp that
was MIA They comped a suite, and a few meals for us. The suite
was comped in advance. The meals as needed, by boothlings. For
whatever reason, I was just not real happy with the entire PEPPS
experience last summer.
Mark, just out of curiosity, were the free-play stickers on the NSUD
and 10/7DB coin droppers? Outside of 9/6DDB, that's all I found to
play there.
I felt exactly the opposite when I moved to the Silver Legacy for
the 2nd part of my visit. I liked the vp, ambiance and attitude of
those manning the club booth, much better. Just a personal opinion,
of course, but we all have to play where we're most comfortable.
Anyway, Happy New Year and GOOD LUCK* to all in 2005
*I'll be lucky if I can stay awake until midnight!

NSUD: there were many machines, MD/MG Gamemakers WITH the stickers for
Freeplay.
10/7 DB isn't a game I play, so I don't check up on them.
BUT, I would be surprised if there are ANY coin-droppers left at the Pepps. The new
machines have pushed them all out. I used to play the 9/6 JoB $1 coin-droppers - up
to 10 coins - all gone. The replacememnt machines are new, fast, and sometimes
have equivalent paytables - I was only there a few hours. No time to do inventory.
I sure missed the FIVE ACES (2) machines. Are they still MIA? Any lurker Pepp regulars
know about this game?
Maybe I'll stay there next trip. I'm "comfy" at both casinos(SL & Pepps). High roller!
HA! Big Fish - maybe.

Cosidering it comes with 2 nights free lodging, I think it's a
pretty good promo. Just the cost of a air ticket.

->>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Hmmmm........Just the cost of the
plane ride, plus any accrued losses incurred on their not-so-hot
vp. Unless, of course, you are only going to use your free-play and
none of your own bankroll. LOL !!
Seriously, you need to be very vigilant about pay schedules at the
PEPP. They have a lot of garbage. Also, be extremely wary of the
TITO MG/MD slant-tops in the large casino bordered by the buffet,
coffee shop and the newish restrooms. If you are in the habit of
hitting the "max bet" buttom automatically, you will find that
at .25 denom. (single-line) you will be betting 25 quarters a pull.
To overcome this you must hit the "Bet 5 coins" button each time.
I hope you have fun and are also lucky.

With the Atlantis right down the street and downtown a stones throw
away, I think I can find some positive VP (or so says the database).
I learned about the 20-25 coin max bet last trip (expensive lesson)
and do try to learn from my mistakes. Vegas is just a plane ride
away too and last couple trips there, I've noticed a lot of VP
inventory being descimated. It's all a gamble. Promo's just make it
easier and a little cheaper to lose money. Won't be going until
second week of Feb., will report when I return. Bye for now.

Thanks for the information. I received a similar offer as the OP and
was wondering the same thing. My offer was based on a first visit
where we really only played a couple hours of 3 play NSUD before we
passed out and proceeded on to Tahoe early the next morning. I'm
curious; what level of play gets higher bounce back?

I didn't have trouble finding playable vp there, but the max bet

-In my case, 25 hours of single-line play at .25 denom. (mostly on
prog.NSUD with some play on 10/7DB and prog.JW) over a 48 hour
period, resulted in $200/200 free-play plus room/suite comp.
Good luck!

Thanks, Babe. That gives me a baseline from which I can make a few
guesses... That's maybe close to a 1% bounce on your action. Pretty
good.
Chandler
To add to Babe's numbers for your calcs:
my $300 freeplay was from about $15K daily average. I play some .50 and $1 coin,
single line, but mostly .25's, strictly VP & lotsa hours like Babe.
Well, I play a little hold'em too, gotta lie a little, i mean practice bluffing... lol.
I just had a $500 free play offer last Dec. I may have played $20K daily for a few days
before that offer. But who knows how far back they look.
I have platinum slot card & all the comps, but I'm low maintenance.

Thanks for the replies Mark and Babe. Dipped my toes into the
Reno/Tahoe and Laughlin gambling waters for the first time last year
and the water seems pretty warm... IOW I'm surprised at how much my
modest play has been valued;-)
