Peppermill notes

I was also at this "High limit Extravaganza weekend" promotion but I must warn people that actually taking advantage of it could hurt you. It's a drawing based on play & supposedly you have a better chance if you play in the high limit area. Well you do if you participate in the random machine drawings during the day but for earning tickets for the main drawing you're actually hurting yourself if you play in high limit as I didn't find a machine that was close to the $40/pt that they claimed. Since I had been through this on a previous High Limit event, I just showed up because I like staying in the Tuscany Tower & needed rooms for the weekend but skipped the event in order to go to concerts downtown.

Re another post about the regular tower rooms versus Tuscany: on the same stay we used a free night coupon & moved from TT to the regular tower & can confirm that even though the regular tower is not as nice as Tuscany, the remodeling was well done & will be a very acceptable choice in the future. We enjoyed our one day there & the only real quibble that I can find with the room was that the TV was the old large-screen tube type.

Again, I must protest. I was at the Peppermill last weekend for
their "High limit Extravaganza weekend" promotion. I was treated great
(as always) and came home $3,500 to the good. I won $6000 within the
first hour I was there on Thursday (9/6 $1 DDB bartop in high-limit
area. 4A w/ kicker and then the Royal 25 minutes later)and my host
punished me by giving me 2-$50 airline credit vouchers.

1. Eldorado Treasures path closures

The last two drawing periods, I have swiped about 30 times each and
have not closed a path. Previously it would give me a closure after
as few as 5 swipes. I see from a previous post that this promotion
was probably degraded due to abuse. I see many of the locals with all
of the first and second rings filled but no closures. Yet I have also
seen a closure with only 5 icons. It appears that I am on the local
abusers list. Is there some trick to getting off the "abuser" list?
I seldom pick-up the trinkets (key chains, "gold" bar, "gold" bottle,
pen, bungee cord, cards) anymore. Should one always pick these up, so
they know you are actually present? I usually get my full 6 swipes on
the days I am there- I will try reducing that to see if it has an
affect. I won during the first trip & lost the 2nd -- still up $2k
for the year with $30k CI. Maybe the winning trip put be on the "bad"
list?

have done something to pi*s them off at the Pepp because everybody I
know who goes there, goes back and gets treated royally (excuse the
pun). I really enjoy getting my butt kissed by pros 4-5 times a year
and I see no end to this practice since the Pepp keeps sending me
freebies and I'm a sucker for free. Going back the last weekend of
August. As always, my offer to buy you dinner at the Pepp is open when
I'm there. I just wish you would lighten up.

At checkout, we went and talked to our new host, who was very

gracious about showing us all of our customer data on his screen. He
showed we'd played 66 hours, about right (2 people * 8 hrs/day * 4
days). He then showed us our "total EP" (theo) of about $1400, and
said that they target comping about 25-33% of that, and that we'd
actually been comped at 44% already, and therefore he couldn't comp any
of our remaining bill.

Yowza. And here I thought Reno was easy with comps.

Great post.

This is a case of facts versus fallacy, i.e. "Reno was easy with
comps". Those are great stats 25-33%, 44%, etc. My casino benchmarks
are rebate of 10% of actual losses (and I do complain rather loudly if
I
had a truly bad session) and comps at 30% of theo.

I know "people" who get bounce back aka free play offers in thousands
from Peppermill and these people rarely use 5% to 10% of their comps. I
don't know what my comp level was at Peppermill, but I doubt if I spent
more than 5% of the comps that I earned -- I don't need the free rooms
or free food.
