Peppermill Kiosk Now Displaying Points Earned

Not sure if this has been mentioned already, but I don't see it noted in the
Comments section for Peppermill on vpFree_Reno. For awhile now the
Peppermill kiosk where you swipe your card has been allowing you to display points
earned. It shows your current calendar year point balance, and interestingly,
also shows how many points you had earned at the same time the previous year,
so you can see how your current year's rate of earning points compares to
your rate from the previous year. It seems that your card level is based on
how many points earned in a calendar year, and not on a rolling 12-month basis
like the way comps are earned. So now you can see how many points you need
to earn for the rest of the year in order to maintain their current card
level. (Last year, I also received a mailer in late Nov advising me how many
points I needed to maintain my card level). The Atlantis allows you to look up
your points earned at each machine, saving the hassle of looking it up at a
kiosk, but still this is a big improvement for the Peppermill :-).

As for coin-in per point rates, a year or so ago it was $25 to earn a point
for slots and $40-47 to earn a point for VP, though recently it seems the
coin-in to earn a point in VP is much higher, especially for FP or near-FP
machines (as several posters have also noted in the previous months). If anyone
has any ideas or estimates on what the current coin-in per point rates are for
slots and VP, info would be welcomed. I will also attempt to do some
"calibrating" next trip to Peppermill.

Tier points based on calendar year would be a new wrinkle for Pepp,
and a welcome one because otherwise (rolling 12 month basis) it was
near impossible for visitors to advance toward a higher tier. I'll
be able to confirm when I recheck my points next visit (should be
unchanged).

For 08 I've been averaging between $43 and $47 per point, scoring the
former last visit, so I've not seen any significant change in this
variable. My choice of VP payschedules, denomination, and total play
changes little from visit to visit.
