I have been trying to get up the energy for a trip report, we were at the Peppermill week before Christmas, noticed a few other downgrades that MJ did not mention that may have been mentioned before. There seems to be only 1 50 play, the one by the cabaret bar, at least up to 25 cents, it is 9/5 JOB, the 50 play by the sports book is gone. The 2cent spin poker deuces wild is not NSUD. The deuces wild at the fireside bar is also downgraded at quarter's, but the JOB is still okay.
Sorry to hear about the dw at the sports bar, we didn't play there this trip, but I always enjoyed being able to watch the people and games while playing my favorite game.
It was a shock to find the cabaret bar closed at 1:45 am to 9 or 10 in the morning. The qube is the only late night, early morning bar open. When we were there Oceano was closed M-W and Romanza and Chi were each closed 2 days. That may have been only for that week since it was so slow.
It has been almost a year since we were at the Peppermill and noted many changes, that I had not heard about. The whole second level which was nickle and penny slots is now just a non gaming very nice lounge/seating area, no bar that I noticed.
Peppermillions is now just gift shop, spa points and some table game coupons, no food coupons in 12 swipes.
We had our rooms comped which included the $10 resort fee, which actually has value since it includes free wi-fi, coffee maker and packets (refreshed each day, all you want from the maids) and access to the health club (not the spa), but did include $10 off a spa day pass (very expensive) and hilariously they claimed that it also included such items as:
Shuttle service from airport
Local and 1-800 phone calls
pool access
utilization of parking garage and valet service (don't know how the locals manage to park without that resort fee covering it)
For those visiting we stayed in the Peppermill tower, they must have finished renovating all the room because for the first time we did not stay in one of the old rooms. I miss the twinkling lights, but not the old linens. The pillows were soft, there were enough of them for both my husband and myself, and the blanket/throw was soft and fuzzy, not the industrial patch of synthetic cloth they used to call a blanket. There was one of those hidden in the bed but even it seemed like new softer industrial synthetic cloth. Sheets were soft, even though I am not sure they were changed every day. Maid service was very late in the day, again maybe a symptom of a slow week.
Can't give any good stories about wins, but maybe next time, although if they keep cutting the NSUD at the bars, I probably will not be coming back.
Trish
