BSP is a high variance game, and it is extremely difficult to play optimally. I don't have my variance numbers with me, but I did lose $3240 in 217 hands the second time I played it.
If players are getting good offers on BSP, it is possible that they are playing very poorly. It is easy to play poorly and not know it. The comp rate on the machine is relatively low, and if they were winning, I doubt that they would get anything but 86'ed. A host told me it is theoretically a 100% game.
