I know, not much prior notice.
Sent it to me later last night in the email...
I'm personally going to pass, because Atlantis is running a 4x points also, AND I have to be at JANugget for a promotion...Just thought I'd pass this along...
Peppermill: 4x Comp Points Tomorrow 3/12/11
I likewise received the email notice. However, four times a comp rate that
is little better than nothing still doesn't get you a significant comp rate.

You got that right. I seem to get nothing more than free rooms. However, from the Peppermill web site: "Voted Reno's best comps year after year." There you go..... the voters have spoken. We must be wrong.

EDIT:
Sorry I went back and looked. I knew it was you who commented on the poor comps, for some reason I thought you had said it was .4%, but upon looking back you said it was NO LONGER .4% ...

After I commented that the video blackjack comp rate seemed really low to
me, vpFREE_Reno@yahoogroups.com; on behalf of; twowild4
<mailto:luck…@…com> lucky4K@MSN.com sent Sunday 2-20-211 took the time
to actually check comp rates.
"Grand Sierra
9/6 JOB widely reduced to 9/5 or 8/6, including the multi-lines. These were
marginally attractive with the .5% FP and mailer FP (also reduced, at least
for me), but now ...
Its super-carousel remains intact and I usually spend an hour on get-away
day (very limited play) playing them without a card. The loose deuces have
been very generous with a royal and 2 loose deuces. Both deuces hit on 2
card holds. If you are deuce fan you know how infrequently this hold
connects, so I've been very fortunate.

Now that you can see your comp dollars at the kiosk, it's readily apparent
how little your play earns. Perhaps this is why these accounts have been
opaque for years with hosts given wide discretion to run negative accounts
based on action. So why show the miserly rates?
I found comp rates from .01% (yes that's right)to .23% (max) depending on
machine type, schedule, and denomination. Surprisingly it's the multi-line
(higher action) that has the lower rates and I think an element of time,
base denomination, and won-loss (per machine) are also factors. Pay
schedules largely remain intact and my analysis focused on JOB, NSUD, and
SDB. Point rates per coin are also greatly increased and parallel comp
rates.
Rooms are now totally free if booked under an offer code, but food will come
out of your account. If you're an average eater and player, it won't take
long to deplete your comp account unless marketing decides to periodically
offer comp dollars.
Now more than ever it's important to develop a host relationship for
discretionary comps. If that's not happening, I don't see any advantage to
playing here.
Of course if you can find a "mistake" ... :-)"
