pepp trip

No; IGT addmits it.
I have gotten the same card back at Greektown twice going for a Royal. Was told that was the way it is.

But all of that is irrelevant to video poker. Sure, they can use computer tracking to tell them when they should shuffle a live BJ game more often. But since VP shuffles every hand, that practice doesn't apply to VP.

The original question was in regards to whether casinos could program VP machines to hit fewer quads, and someone said no, that's something they might lose their license over. That's basically correct. They cannot (legally) tamper with the machines to change the way they deal cards to produce intentionally non-random results.

Your story about casinos using computers to tell them when to shuffle live BJ games is interesting, but it has no bearing on VP randomness.

That would be a malfunction. If the casino said "that's the way it is" when you asked them about it, my guess is that was their standard response to when a player claims something happened based simply on memory/observation. Did you have them roll the cards back on the screen to confirm it?

If you've seen something where IGT admitted it, I'd be real curious to see the link.

Staying at Atlantis for March madness. There book is ok, where's the best
Book to watch the games?

And if you mean that the video poker machine shuffles, then analyzes that
shuffle to see if it's got good cards on top, then decides to reshuffle
some more until there's bad cards on top... no, that would be the same as
dealing non-randomly and is illegal in regulated jurisdictions.

VP cards must be dealt in a random fashion, regardless of what gymnastics
take place internally before the cards appear.

Being allowed to shuffle until the deck is unfavorable is highly
relevant to any game that involves shuffling a deck of cards. This is
illegal for a person to do, but under current guidelines, it's legal for
a casino to do because the board has decreed that a casino is not a
person.

Returning discarded cards would be more than a malfunction! I agree "that's the way it is" would be standard response. There is an ongoing poll on the motherboard about randomness:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/vpFREE/surveys?id=11899757
Most members have 100% confidence as to randomness of most Nevada VP.
A good amount are 95% confident and 15% are somewhat skeptical.

It's not the best written poll. Using the wording "most video poker," infers that there ARE some machines that are not random and fair. I would be very unhappy if even a small amount of VP gaffed. I would want to see loss of gaming license but would not be surprised if gaming commission did Nothing.

Look how many in the banking/real estate congame had their ill-gotten gains confiscated. I mean the prisons are overflowing with MBAs
Weasel factor - Hah!
