peeves about Arena Theaters

misscraps is so on target here. Have been to MGM Grand Arena several times on
supposedly "VIP" tickets & can't remember enjoying any performance as much as
the first time at Celine Dion theater where we had mid-range tickets but much
better view of stage & performers than we ever had at Grand Arena. The fact
that no seat is farther than 165' from the stage may have something to do with
it. Ever since CD theater opened have pledged to never go back to (not-so)
Grand Arena.

Generally speaking these arena venues are horrible places to see shows. The
arenas are huge, and even seats costing over $100, even over $200, are so far
from the stage that you need binoculars to see peformers. Also many of the
seats are hard and sometimes narrow. I took a cushion the last time I went
to
the MGM Grand. As a large person, I find some of the seats extremely
uncomfortable to sit in (and possibly impossible for my 200 pound plus body
to fit in).
Even skinny people may find the small chairs hard on the rear.
