PE..Who's Playing ?

So with members voicing their displeasure with the PE changes, I gather it hasn't deterred anyone from playing ? Everyone still happy with less available FP machines and twice the coin-in needed for a comp dollar ?

  Larry F.

P.S. What's also upsetting is that the scum bags at Mohegan could have at least settled for the for the 99% version instead of going to the 96.68% one.

I don't play pickum so it hasn't deterred me

Mel,
Agreed that the Sun is the only casino south of Buffalo that has FP PE. What I was trying to imply was that if a player is unhappy then he/she should use their most potent weapon aginst the casino..their feet. Particularly in light of the severity of the PE downgrade( see my original postscript). However I fully understand players' discontent ( and their right to voice it; certainly I have in the past. For me personally, I don't play nearly as much at the Sun as I previously had. I mostly go to the Sun( when I do go) because of some personal reasons not worth mentioning.
I do like PE but only rarely play it due to the scarcity of available machines and the smokers. I hate the fact and still don't understand why all of the FPJOB are only at the bars. I do most of my play on BP in non-smoking sections. However I do not like the Ballys machines and would much rather play an IGT BP machine in AC.

Larry,
I agree with your new statement. I play mainly the JOB and if they take all the 9-6 away I would also stop playing there. The point I was making was that MS still has plenty of playable VP considering what has been happening to VP all over the country including Atlantic City and Vegas.

I think what has happened is that our small group of players, have been treated so well by Mohegan, that we want to continue with the special treatment. I feel lucky that we moved, at 270, it would be impossible for me to maintain any status. The loss of the Cabaret, was the start of the down fall. I really enjoyed all the benefits, entertainment, and treatment I recieved from the casino. I wish everyone the best, and tons of royals. Weather in Tucson is awesome. Tucson is one of our favorites. We own land on Gates Pass road right before the national forest. We will eventually be moving down there in a few years. We can meet at one of the local casino's. Where are you living?
Take care

Name me any Atlantic City or Las Vegas strip casino that has more full pay games than Mohegan?

Mohegans still has $1, $10 and $25 FP Pick-em. What A/C or strip property has FP Pick-em?

They have FP BP from .25-$3, FP JOB from $1-$5, 9/6DDB from $1-$10. Name me one A/C or strip property with more FP machines.

All stores & restaurants ar $1-$1, sound like Harrahs?

Even at $150 /pt it is still .66 or .33 cash. Cash Back or Free Play exceeds A/C or the Strip significantly if you play smart.

24/7 lounges with decent food

They are in the middle of farm land with little competition

They may be tightening things like everyone else. I miss the Cabaret, top name shows and $80/pt but I don't think they are a bunch of scum bags.

Larry, I'm with you. I'm a quarter player and the travel time
from Long Island to MS or AC is about the same. Sooooo, I go
to AC where rooms/food are comped and there are plenty of 9/6 JOB
in non-smoking areas. I'll get over no FP PE at quarter.

When AC downgrades all the JOB then I'm outta there too.

We have moved to Oro Valley, which is NW Tucson. We are 2 1/2 miles from El Conquistador. We joined the club there. No traffic, no snow, plenty of sun. Only fair game is NSUD, at quarters, and limited machines. We have plenty of room. House prices have come down alot. We paid 565, and house was originally listed at 950, with lesser houses selling having sold for 775-900. Pricing depends on what you are looking for. I really wanted to live in a community where I could get everywhere by golf cart, but houses are small, with no land. In just 4 weeks, I have seen, bobcats, coyotes, and javelinas. Biggest adjustments are getting use to the southwestern housing, landscaping, and lack of grass( except for the golf course). Today on the driving range, a coyote was tormenting me, at 270( balls are 80 compression, so he was in little danger). Biggest negative, sales tax other than food. License was only $10 until I hit 65. Have a
great day, and royals to all. Ciao Don

Well said, Joel. Not to mention the generally nicer people you find at the Sun, compared to the sometimes awful denizens of the deep who wander in off the Boardwalk in AC.

The Diamond Lounges at HET properties in AC might have a SLIGHTLY better food offering (a choice of sugar-free desserts, for example) but the hours are very, very limited.

I absolutely agree about missing the Cabaret shows, as most of the entertainers we enjoy could fill that room, but not the Arena, and typically wouldn't perform in the Wolf Den. But then again, you really can't get a much bigger act than the Jonas Brothers (not for me, but the granddaughter was ecstatic!)

The $270 /pt on the FP PE does hurt though.

BTW, there is one additional thing that I discovered fairly recently, which is not advertised: there is a website for Cascade Electronics that lists many more items than they have for sale physically in the store. You can't order from the website, but you can bring in the info, and they'll order the item for you using your points, and have it shipped to your home, at very reasonable shipping rates. I've ordered several items, and received them quickly with no problems whatsoever.

Joel,
You make some good points. I know that there isn't any FPPE in AC. I was just resenting the downgrades as did others who posted. Obviously these downgrades were't enough to alter yours or some other members playing habits, which of course is a personal decision. Obviously Sun management did the smart thing in downgrading

Even at $150 /pt it is still .66 or .33 cash. Cash Back or Free Play exceeds A/C

I'm not a mnath person .. is the .66 the comp rate ? As far as CB/ Free Play( and I guess that free play is the correct term since there isn't any cash back at MS.) is concerned I'll have to disagree with you as far as AC is concerned. I can do better at quite a few AC casinos with the same amount of play and also get CB !

They may be tightening things like everyone else. I miss the Cabaret, top name shows and $80/pt but I don't think they are a bunch of scum bags.

I wasn't implying that Sun management as a whole were scum bags just their decision to drop the PE paytable down to 96+% rather than to 99%.

And of course there is the cloud of smoke that hangs over the casino a definite minus for a non smoker .

However admittedly I do go to the Sun on occasion.

So with members voicing their displeasure with the PE changes, I gather it hasn't deterred anyone from playing ? Everyone still happy with less available FP machines and twice the coin-in needed for a comp dollar ?

P.S. What's also upsetting is that the scum bags at Mohegan could have at least settled for the for the 99% version instead of going to the 96.68% one.

The $5 9/6DDB are in the DB. They are in the casino of the sky high limit room and a bank in the casino of the wind.

You mention 9/6 DDB at 1-10 dollar limits. The only 9/DDB was in the new casino at the $10 level. There are none lower than this unless they are tucked away some where I have not been.

There are $1 9/6 DDB in Earth Casino in the old poker room same as Pick'Em. When you walk up the stairs it's on your left on the other side of the 2cent vp machines. Those machines are multi demon .20 & $1 with max bet of 10. Good Luck.

I didn't know the palms was on the strip (: What do they have in Pick-em anyway?

Larry F.
