Paycheck Promotions

I have mixed feelings about these kinds of promos. Yes, the casino is
counting on the check cashers having no "willpower," and losing some or all of
their paycheck once it is cashed. On the other hand, these people are all adults
over 21, and as such should be responsible for their own actions. No one is
FORCED to gamble with their paycheck. If a person has a gambling problem, he
should steer clear of these promos. Can you say "direct deposit?"

The REALLY smart casinos serve free drinks to the people waiting in line to
cash their checks! Willpower is alcohol-soluble! :slight_smile:

When I worked at Harvey's Lake Tahoe, we were taxed on our tips since Harvey's reported 100% of our tip earnings to the IRS. Because we received our share of the pooled tips in cash daily, our actual paychecks would be $0 since all taxes for the tips and hourly wages were taken out of our hourly earnings of $5.15/hr.

Harvey's let us cash our $0 paychecks to get either a $5 Reel Rewards card or 2 drink tokes. We thought it was a nice benefit for employees.
