There were individuals who were running 2 checks a day at Rampart.
There are several paycheck mills in town. A paycheck mill is company
that has a legitimate business and will sell checks to people so
they can run them at casinos. It's a good way for a business to make
some extra money. You charge the video poker player $10 for each
check. The player goes in with XYZ company check. It's an actual
check from an actual business. To say the Rampart got abused is
putting it mildly. They should have taken one check a week. If they
did that the promo would still be going.

In fact, when I cashed a small one a few days earlier they told me they'd raised the limit on the paychecks to $200 which made sense to me. But then apparently they decided to bag the deal altogether. Their prerogative. Before that I used to cash mine at Texas where the least you get is a couple hundred points on your account. I've gotten better things there too, like a free bet at the sports book, etc..

No reflection on the previous poster but this made me smile a
little. Every time I've seen the line of people cashing checks in
these promotions it seems they are primarily blue collar folks
likely cashing their real weekly paycheck. It's hard to feel too
sorry for a casino that is carrying out a promotion designed to take
the rent and food money from working people. I guess the upside is
that some of these folks can avoid the check-cashing joints.
