Every 9/6 JOB machine that is non-progressive pays back the same
(actually 99.54%). VPfree has a list of paytables at this link

When I first started I made a laminated sheet that I used to carry
around for the more popular games that ranked 99% or higher. After a
while you will know the paytables off by heart.

There are alot of decoy paytables out there too. Bonus poker seems to be
taking the most abuse right now. There are "Bonus" games that are 8/5, but then
all the quads pay the same. Other "Bonus" games have 10/8/5 in the paytable,
but get shorted in the two pair payoff.

Another trick is to short royals to 2,500. Sometimes "239" gets substituted
for "250" too.

Wild Card games have many versions that can be different on almost any
payline.

Of course you do have to play the right strategy to optimize the possible
return, no matter what version of VP.

**************************************
AOL

Keep in mind that the paytables as listed at the vpfree site are for 1
coin bet except for the top jackpots such as Royal Flush and the
Deuces+Joker. So, 800 is conveniently listed for 1 coin instead of the
actual 4000 (5 coin) Royal Flush payout. You would not find a machine
with 800 for the RF with 1 coin bet (usually it is 250 for 1 coin). It
is expected that you would play max coin to get the top jackpots.

So compare the 1-coin paytables up to the RF jackpot and multiply the
vpfree listed RF jackpot by the max coin which is usually 5 coin but can
be much larger.

Progressive jackpots are another issue of complexity when determining %
payback.
